...are horrendous, this is nothing. I suggest you play Sonic '06 THEN whine about the load times on this game!

Well I didn't really know that the model of PSP affects the load times. How long does it normally take to load on a PSP-1000? Seeing as I have a PSP-2000, it only takes about 30 seconds to a minute, with the occasional two-and-a-half minute boss loading. Though one thing I do have to complain about is the game rubber-banding me on the jumping trials! >.<

OK, that's a bit of a difference alright, but unless I'm trying to do the same thing over and over again without success like when I was trying to do level 4 of the jumping trial, I wouldn't find it that bad.

Maybe not when compared to worse PSP games (the port of Spectral Souls II springs readily to mind) but it's still bad when compared to the better PS2 port (despite its godawful default CG opening) or the superior PC version.

Is there anything else Konami muck up on? Aside from the load times and the rubber-banding in the jumping trial?

Wait
'only' 30 second load times between areas?

The graphics look like ass. Compare to Falcom's port of Oath (or I-II Complete in the guise of Chronicles, or the Sora no Kiseki games, or Gurumin, or Zwei, or...) to see that they could have done so much better. Sure, there's always going to be a hit due to the limitations of the PSP when compared to a PC's screen but Napishtim's problems go beyond that.

I'm playing this right now, as in I actually set the PSP down to type this
The graphics aren't even the big issue for me, it's that random screens seem to have an unforgivable framerate drops. Why do some of the areas in the Canaan Plains and Mithos Path move at like 5 FPS?

That's where CFW comes in handy -- my PSP 1000 runs those areas just fine! I remember how bad the trials used to be, but then I overclocked my PSP, set it to 333 Mhz, and load the game directly off of my memory stick. Yeah, Konami sucks for making me *have to* use CFW to play the game *almost perfectly*, BUT knowing that I can, is better than sitting here thinking I can't and that the game sucks and it's all Konami's fault -- however true that last part may be!

Could be. I definitely noticed how horrible the murals in the Mythos Path look on the PSP screen and how the magic graphics sucked more than any sound-related issues.

Yeah I saw that too. The PSP version was the first one I played so I didn't even know they were supposed to look good until I tried the PC one

I can't complain about the load times on my psp 3000 Definitely better than playing Ys 1-3 on the 1x CD rom of my Turbo Duo Just found the game used for $7 and loving it. I already bought Ys 7 and (pre ordered) Oath to play after.

(the port of Spectral Souls II springs readily to mind) I actually tried this the other day because the sequel was recently released, and good lord I have never encountered loading times so horrible. It had to load between every piece of dialogue...

I put a digital version of the game on my PSP memory card (PSP-2000) Load times aren't too bad, but the slowdown is my main problem.
