Sure there is! There's tons of it! I'd feel shameful if I was French-Canadian, too.

Nah, he is who he is. There's no shame in that! You've never looked back and felt kind of crappy for doing or saying stupid things? D:

Whoa, I didn't know a sequel to Half-Minute Hero was in the works! I loved the first one, so this simply must not suffer the same fate as Retro Game Challenge 2.

Hah! I already feel shame for posts on this board. One of my first things I did was ask for free stuff D: I mean, times were tight I wasn't lying, but that was seriously shameless! I had balls for being such a little bugger. And I probably will buy this game at some point I have nothing against supporting y'all at XSeed and Falcom. It's just that, as it is, I don't think I have the patience for the game, and there are other Falcom/Ys games I own and haven't gotten through either. That, and I've got no money for a while! So it's a big thing for me, what I buy/don't buy. Once I get a job, it won't be such a big thing, but I can't see that happening until I do all of my community service hours and have steady grades, so that's probably after highschool. Who knows though!

Nope, I never played that Japanese version. Perhaps you're right though. Only time will tell.

So does a Japanese save work with the US version of the game? Or is it that your version works with it for testing purposes?

Though since I'm more a VGM whore than a gamer, I can't wait for OST which looks set to be amazing. Shimomura is on top form currently, plus Mitsuda, Hamauzu and many more!

I wouldn't mind starting over, I'll definitely make my first English run a hard mode run. Say, you're not going to do any crazy Working Designs game-changing stuff on us, are you? // Just out of curiousity, are Yuusha 30 saves compatible with Half-Minute Hero? I know you said "anymore" which leads me to believe that at one point in time, Japanese games and American games could use the same saves, so I was wondering if Yuusha 30 was exempt. I know you probably just meant "during the development period", however, and that it's really been the same since the dawn of the PSP.

I don't mind as long as I get me map!
In fact, I thought the map was so awesome, I actually forgot it came with a CD and artbook. >_>

In my mind, I was wondering if there would be any gameplay-related changes. (Like Popful Mail CD's difficulty.) // So to clarify, I wasn't going to accuse you of total translation ignorance. I love what XSEED does, and from what I've seen of your particular work, even in screenshots, it's awesome! Basically, the bottom-line is that I wonder personally if there are going to be more differences in the game as a whole compared to the Japanese version. Some things change. Konami removed the level select from the US and EU versions of Rocket Knight Adventures. Just little things like that. Faxanadu's crosses, rosary, character naming screen, etc.

AFAIK, pulling a Working Designs = completely rewriting a scene to tell a joke, without actually bothering to translate the original Japanese in the slightest. And that, we did not do. You have my word. And you've said that WD did good translations???? O_o

Really, I think a translation like that would only really be the right choice if the game's original script was bad.

I'm pretty sure the Ace Attorney series does a similar thing for localizations (would there really be a Bel-Air reference in the Japanese script?) and they generally have an amazing script full of witty dialogue.

You won't find ANY Japanese PSP games that have compatible savegames with their overseas releases, though, I'm afraid. Although, with at least a few games, there are fan-made utilities to convert JP saves to US saves. It's not impossible, it just takes a little work. BTW... some of us have been speculating on the voice actors for the dub of Seven. Any chance you'll clue us in eventually? ;P

I approve of Change in Felghana. The idea that analog is initially disabled for any reason whatsoever, is just all kinds of "ugh" and *disdain* and "why?!", it makes absolutely no sense from ANY point of view; developer and gamer views alike. Not that I'd be complaining, the fact that it's an option to begin with is plenty awesome, and I believe it would be most useful for people who have a touchy/sensitive nub (hehe, sensitive nub...), sweaty fingers (after playing OiF, yours should be!) that would slip, or otherwise a *faulty* nub, which can happen. I've learned *NOT* to remove my nub, due to the deadzone defaulting to a NW position. If I ever had problems with my nub, I wouldn't know what to do with it; I'd otherwise LOVE to remove it, as I don't even *use* it. My PSP doesn't have ANY buttons on it, or a screen, just a nub. This is because I had trouble with the screen during the repairs; it got in the way and I had to remove it. I just could never put it back in. Obviously if it's not going to have a screen, I'll have to use RemoteJoyLite to play with my PSP -- and obviously if I'm going to use RemoteJoyLite, I'm not even going to use my PSP buttons, let alone the fact that my PSP's battery compartment is TOUCHY -- one false move turns it off! I just wanted to explain that in advance, for those who would have otherwise been left wondering. You may now resume your usual on-topic discussion.

There are equivalent jokes in the Japanese version but they wrote new ones entirely so English audiences would get it. A very smart move on their part Also I haven't played through a WD game since Gungriffon Blaze. Time to finally play through Growlanser I suppose

I just realized there are only eleven days left. Unless there's an early dump! You wouldn't happen to know a morally flexible fellow at work who would be interested in dumping the game NOW a few days early, would you?
