I just beaten Ys SEVEN. And now I'm going to play it again in Nightmare difficulty. (ulp) In any case, I can't wait for Ys VIII/EIGHT assuming there will be one.
And to a little off-topic, but why SEVEN? why didn't they call the game 'Ys VII: insert subtitle here' like they did all the other Ys games?

Well, I played it some this morning, beat the Fire Shrine and the Old Waterway.
Next is Khylos I guess.

And to a little off-topic, but why SEVEN? why didn't they call the game 'Ys VII: insert subtitle here' like they did all the other Ys games? SEVEN is the sub and title! :D That's why there's so much emphasis on the word SEVEN! XD XD XD Actually, Falcom goes funny at times and writes it as 7 and VII too and such but people have hypothesized that the alternate spellings are for the supposedly impending multi-platform release. I tried taking on the next to last boss at level 55. It did not go well.:(!!!!! HJ: Well, maybe not level 65 but close to it! I got 3 more skills for Cruxie to level up and then I'll head off to give the bosses the beat down. :DDDD ----------------- Ahahaha. Level 59 - 61 characters on the third last boss. Damn, that was ... no challenge at all. XD No potions used. XD! ----------------- Wow. Like last time, that first part of the final boss was ANNOYING AS HELL. It didn't help that the AI went stupid and kept running into the spot by the base of the the bugger. >_> I'm not good enough to solo, dammit! And lordy, never flash guarded so much in my life as I did with the last part of the final battle. XD I say it worked about 80% of the time!! Got crit here now and then from the little heat seeking energy balls for a failed guard. Oh well. :B

I think that's a greek letter (lower case zeta?).
Agreed on the title though

I always thought the seven was spelled out because it was referring not only to the ordinal number in the series, but to the fact that there were seven members in the group. Kinda like The Magnificent Seven.

But yeah, if you want to give it your OWN subtitle, I think everyone can agree that "Ys VII: The Five Great Dragons of Altago" would probably be the most logical choice. -Tom Make more sense than Ys VII: Adol's Whimsical Fancy Dragon Journey! or Ys VII: Adol Gets Crunk

I beat the game late last night. Clocked in a little over 40 hours with my characters around Lv. 60. I decided to grind for the best weapons and equipment, although after beating the game I realized I could have used better methods to save time. >_>

Finished the game last night. Took about 32 hours and my party was around the 59-61 level range. It was a bit easy, but still a very enjoyable experience. The gameplay is just unmatched and the story was quite enjoyable also.

Did you also take 2 hours to get out of Altago City like me? :D Nah, I just haven't been picking it up as much as I normally would, since I've beaten it 3 times already. I've been killing my free time setting up my new apartment and watching the original Dragon Ball.

But why would you want to save time? ._. Because time is precious. Also because why would I not wanna speed up the process for farming 350+ soul stones?
