Well, the narrator in the TurboGrafx version of Ys III also brought a smile to my face though, so... XD

I guarantee the narrator's first few lines in the game's prologue will bring a smile to your face. I was there for their recording, and even I literally yelled out, "This is AWESOME!", unconsciously, when I heard the lines spoken in-game. -Tom Oh? Does he say "Think back to your worst nightmare!"? That would rock, as long as it sounded good & serious! Tis a shame Edgar doesn't atleast ONCE say Adol muhboy! That would've also rocked!

I just thought the other day how great it would have been be to have Dogi say one of his lines from the TG-16 version:
"Adol, smell that fresh sea breeze? The ship is in top shape, we're ready to shove off."
The way he says it in the game is very funny.

... dude, BlazBlue has AWESOME voice acting. Apart from Rachel, anyway, who mostly annoys me (though that might be more because she's a total bitch).
Just look at Taokaka!

Rachel's voice fits, though. She's just... a total bitch, yeah.
Blazblue seriously has some of the best voice acting I've ever heard. Same with Soul Nomad, but nobody's ever played that.

Yeah, BKO's voice acting is pretty good. Pretty ironic, if you think about it. I wouldn't give it my vote for best voice acting, though~

Uncharted 2, imo
But as far as dubs, I think my favorites were Soul Nomad and MGS3

Oh God. No. Just no. Hey wyrd, did you "fix" the goofy Engrish of the boss titles like "Chester Stoddart, the White Knight in Heartless"? I hope not cuz we need that silliness to remain intact! They were sorely missing from Ys SEVEN. XD Also, this is why I'm skeptical about the voice acting in Felghana English: And to respond to nunuu's comment: I actually dislike voice-acting in games more often than I like it! In fact, a lot of games that get praised for having excellent voice-acting are ones that I tend to find really bad. Odin Sphere, for example... no clue why people always praise the English voices in that. I honestly think it's one of Atlus's worst dubs of all time, and I switched to the Japanese voices sooooo quickly, as I found the English ones to be simply AWFUL. I even went back later, convinced that I must've just been in a foul mood or something, and that the voice-acting couldn't have been THAT bad... but no, it was just as bad! IIRC, I liked Cornelius' voice and some others. Odin Sphere definitely didn't rub me the wrong way in terms of English voice work like Grandia. Oh Lord. Grandia. =______________=

Also, location names all have subtitles. So you have things like "Elderm Mountains / Largely Untouched By Man," "Seat of Evil / Where All Paths Converge," and my favorite: "Clock Tower / Time To Die." Awesome! Yeah, that should make up for Seven's boss subtitles not being nearly as epic as past games (hopefully multiplatform Seven will bring back the Engrish). Are we talking Brian Blessed levels of over the top? Because I could go for something like that.

Obviously Bishop Nikolas is voiced by Michael McConnohie.

See, I never played the TG-16 version, so I had no idea those lines even existed. You guys should've said something sooner!! -Tom Aw crap, I was under the impression you had played thru the TG version. Damn, if I'd had known, I would've been more vocal about throwing in a joke or 2 referring to the Turbo version. Ok, you oh the TG nuts something then Something in Chronicles, maybe a joke about Dogi's middle name being Colin or something, or about Reah going off to her Lair, or SOMETHING! It's a shame there's no voice acting in it, then it might be easier to throw something in, especially in outtakes. And, I was thinking, I live so close to Xseed, & I love to do voice acting. How awesome that would've been to be a part of the cast, maybe as Mayor Edgar(then I would deffinitly throw in m'boy ). That's basically what I did with Dr. Flair for Dawn of Ys, kinda based it on Grady/Edgar But, I don't have an agent, nor alot of time, which is pretty much the reasons why I've never bothered to pursue real voice acting, even though I'd LOVE to do it.

Sorry, but I couldn't, in all good conscience, leave that in. It's still pretty "flowery," though, so it's a lot more interesting than in Ys Seven. Another victory for good taste. I've never been a fan of anything in the "so bad, it's good" department; I consider the redub of Symphony of the Night to be a considerable improvement (except the voice of Alucard - Yuri Lowenthal may have been a better match for Ryotaro Okiayu, but Robert Belgrade made the role his own, acting skills not withstanding). I trust we'll be seeing both The Heartless and The Vengeful White Knight, then? Also, location names all have subtitles. So you have things like "Elderm Mountains / Largely Untouched By Man," "Seat of Evil / Where All Paths Converge," and my favorite: "Clock Tower / Time To Die." ... I take back every doubt I expressed on GameFAQs. The Clock Tower one is perfect, and The Seat of Evil works on so many levels. I'm almost tempted to ask for a full list right now. Almost. I'm not claiming that of Felghana's dub, either, but I do believe that you won't be disappointed. Certain voices will rub you the wrong way, sure (I'm telling you, be prepared to balk at Margo!), but the main cast should all prove at least acceptable to you, if not amazing. And I seriously can't imagine anyone complaining even one bit about Chester, Dogi, or the narrator in particular. Those voices are about as awesome as they come. Here's a simple solution to assuage any doubts: at around the time the game goes gold, put together a trailer that showcases a little bit of everything - the gameplay, the cinematics, the music, the voices, and the narration - and let those speak for themselves. Minus the cliche one-liners (sorry, but I really did not like Emeril's catchphrase being in the Ys Seven trailer; it felt so out-of-place). Either way, it's a bit hard for me to get any more psyched about this game than I am now. Wanderers From Ys was the first game I ever owned, and I preordered Felghana the moment I learned of its existence. I bought a second copy for a friend of mine when Falcom was offering all five PC Ys titles for 10,000 yen. If not for Xseed's announcement, I'd have imported the PSP version already. I don't think I need to tell you which game sits at the top of my personal Top Ten, do I? Oh, and hello again, everyone. I hope most of you remember me from NightWolve's forums and RIGG. If not, pleased to meet you.

Clock Tower / Time To Die?! XD Oh boy! Too bad you couldn't get the original voice of Ghaleon to say that somewhere! Does this mean we'll see something like Redmont Bar / Taste My Refreshment! ? Anyway, pleased to meet you TDOMMX. Way to make an entrance! Love the avatar!

You should mention to whoever makes the trailers over there to learn from the mistakes in the Ys Seven trailer, Wyrdy. Some of us found it to be pretty underwhelming overall, so it'd be nice to see something more akin to a trailer Falcom would put out and blow us all away with. The Japanese Felghana PSP trailer still gives me shivers when I watch it.
