Wow, awesome. Story wasn't the greatest obviously, but given what it was, the localization was great! At least it all felt very cohesive, nothing really randomly jumping out of place and not being explained. Very fun though, but I beat it on Nightmare so there's nothing left for me to do No boss rush, and no extra difficulties makes it lose points.. but overall the experience on Nightmare was rather challenging. Docking it a few points for those glaring omissions, I'd say the game's worthy of an 8.6 for sure. The rest of the package is all extremely well put-together. At this point I would pretty much give anything for an expanded, even more complete/polished (if that's possible) PS3 version. So if anyone's on the fence about picking this up.. just do it you will likely have no regrets if you're a fan of action-RPGs. ps. flash guarding is addicting. Totally made this game.

Flash guarding in Chronicles would be kind of strange, seeing as how you have to touch them to hurt them.

Flash guarding in Chronicles would be kind of strange, seeing as how you have to touch them to hurt them. Not THAT strange, ne? :'D I mean... now that you guys have said that, it could have actually worked like....... if Adol damages the enemy by bumping into them, then... perhaps if they bumped into him, an Adol could *poof* flashguard and send the clueless enemy flying across or something~! Not that it matters, since it doesn't exist anyways. *random silly thinking* And, that, I be horrid at flash guarding. When it works, it's super fun! But... I think I'll stick to safe old rolling and dodging~!

The nice thing about Ys is the bosses have attacks that are easy enough to see coming. With a little timing, flash guarding can make a lot of the bosses much easier. Now in Ys vs Sora no Kiseki, it's a lot harder since the characters you fight are much faster and less predictable (But at the same time, they let you keep your guard up to defend yourself)

I'm getting close to the end. This game completely rules. I don't know if they'll ever be able to top it. I love everything about it, and have been staying up all night every night playing the hell out of it. Just taking my time and enjoying it.
I also really love "Lost Method", but hearing it in the game last night made it incredible. It's now my favorite Ys music after Subterranean Canal! I must have listened to it at least 30 times in a row today. Maybe they could remake 4 and 5, now, because beating the perfection of Ys Seven is gonna be hard. As soon as I get things all good with my PC again there's gonna be floods of Ys Seven fan art from me.
RULES!

Lost Method? I just listened to it to remind myself which one it was... the only thing I can say I really like about it is the percussion part.
Anyway I'm betting when VII goes multiplatform, the music will be wholely instrumental, seeing as how the JDK Summer album has Mother Earth Altago, Great Tree, Crossing Rage, and Legend of the Five Great Dragons on it. So expect the soundtrack to get awesome... real awesome.
And yeah, everyone wants to see Ys IV remade.

And yeah, everyone wants to see Ys IV remade. IV and V both. Actually, the other day I did find this picture, which is relevant to people who wanted to see Ys V on PSP.... img820.imageshack.us/f/ysvpsp.png/

I was expecting some kind of a mock SS or fan art. I was... wrong, but not disappointed.

I should put my Wii Fit balance board on my PSP. That way I can play it on the go.

One of my favourite things is how the last dungeon managed to make me feel like some incredible badass. Taking out monsters while The Place Where Souls Return played in the background, and then the amazingly baller fight against Scias was such an exhilarating experience. Not to mention the final boss!

Haha kind of abandoned my own topic right after I made it, but good responses all Glad to see everyone enjoyed Ys 7 about as much as I did, and the excitement for a re-release of Ys4 and 5 is infectious. Also! Random question and I should probably make a new topic but *ahem*... if I'm interested in grabbing Ys vs SnK, is there a mildly cheap way to do so? and by mildly cheap I mean anything under 65 bucks? Best I've found so far is ebay with 85 D:
