If you liked the anime, then you can move on with the Visual novel..............or the manga at least. No wait.......the visual novel has pretty ugly art. and the manga gets consntantly delayed. Or stay with the never resumed anime........ Choose wisely. The art of VN is not ugly!It may be a bit simple, but simple is cool. And besides one ll get used to that art pretty soon And the music, wall of text and whole atmosphere completely makes up the 'downside' of the art in VN. Well I haven't watched the anime yet.. And I ll not watch it any time soon. I can't believe it is that good, especially compared to VN - would only make me angry watching it

I've been telling Battler from the start that it's retarded to play somebody else's game by somebody else's rules, especially when those rules are subject to abrupt variable change. . . but he just ignores me or talks over me. Rude bastard. It does seem quite silly that he's arguing against the existence of a witch, while indulging her far enough to humor a game dependent upon her witchiness--ie. he's a priori admitting defeat by participating. And, i hate to spoil you........But at least the points you mentioned get touched later on, Of course, the one why he explains why he tries to deny the witch existance gets mentioned just in the visual novel and Manga. Also...... New list: - Carnival Phantasm
- Dragon Ball Abridged
- Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged
IM JOKING, JK,JK,JK. PLEASE DONT KILL ME.

.............Just watch Angel Beats!, yes, im pulling you back to this thread, because that one anime deserves it. IMO, it´s not that great, but it´s still good nonetheless. The finale was rushed, but it made me cry.....Its the first ficticious thing to make me cry.

You don't have to reel me back in, Rey; I've already been netted so I could flop around on the floor! (I'm not edible, but I look damn pretty in the tank!) - for now!- Can't keep me pinned. This bird's gotta fly! (I'm a wind fish ) But yeah, I put Angel Beats on my list right after seeing your final thoughts. Thanks for the recommendation! It's not top priority, as somebody with cloned scarily similar tastes wasn't impressed by it, but I trust your judgment too. Gurren Lagann catches my eye more, but I'm stockpiling series on my harddrive anyway in preparation for loss of internet in a month and a half. I may need enough to last me a couple years, so the more the merrier! (I can fit about another hundred gigs!) She knows she has final say over what I watch! Damn cour'souvra! *kicked for making references only those of the Yakraic Order understand*

Kaiba and the rest are already on the list! I didn't dislike it, but I didn't love it either. But it's been a long time, so i can't recall specifically why. It was before I had internet, thus a Netflix rental, so I could have been put off by something as basic as bad VA --and so long as I'm correcting your tastes: Mardock Scramble should get a 9, not an 8! And the trilogy as a whole, if it keeps up with the first, will get a 10! *shakes fanslators for Second Combustion* D´AAAAAW STOP BEING ADORABLE!

Gurren Lagann catches my eye more If you ever watch it and find yourself screaming "Giga drill breaker" let me know and i will happy to know im not alone Lol, i usually do that on the laptop for when electrical energy fails. Angel Beats! it´s a good anime, the problem is that they settled it to be a 13-episode anime, leading it to be like most shows aired in noitaminA: some kind of rushed up mess when by having more time they could have been better. Kaiba. Yeah, that was it. It have so much potential for a 24 ep anime, but the the lack of time made the end rushed and i was very dissapointed when they dint showed me what i wanted about the rest of the characters. But, still enjoyable.

Turns out most of my recommendations aren't on Realitylapse. Some can be found on zone-anime (which seems to be dead, but go google archive!), but mostly I'm wandering in the fucking dark. And what the hell is with torrents? The only Haibane Renmeis I found were either five gigs or TWELVE! TWELVE!!!For 12 friggin episodes?! I thought those 90 MB rmvb files were friggin' bad! Anyway, it seems I'm gonna fit less than I thought, and it's probably going to take me the whole damn month I have just to get them. [/ungry grumbling] EDIT: Anybody see Mystic Archives of Dantalian? Nobody's mentioned it, but I stumbled upon it by mistake, and it sounded promising. If it sucks, somebody please warn me!

So, what exactly is wrong with Guilty Crown, anyway? I just saw some clips, and it LOOKS really good. Also, Gosick is now on the HD, even though I know nothing about it. And a recommendation for myself! Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom (clever title, by the way ). 40 is the new 20, pink is the new black, and Gen Urobuchi is the new Dai Sato! (and it takes up 9 fuckin' gigs, so I think it takes precedence!)

I'm waiting on that review, then. The popular opinion MAL rating isn't much lower than Blood+ or Wolf's Rain , so I'm guessing it's not universally reviled. . . .and you have given things lower ratings than they deserve before. *cough* I'll wait on a more substatial opinion (and rationale) before taking any chances though, as I certainly have enough bonified gems clogging my C drive to keep me occupied. And, out of curiosity, Ka~roo, have you seen Wolf's Rain or Ergo Proxy? I'm a bit curious as to your opinion of them, if you have. Same question aimed at my man, Rey!

Well, if so far you want an opinion of GC.
Yeah, the animation is more than excellent and very fluid. Well, its not a bad anime (at least for me) But the animation is the only shining point.
The soundtrack is "Passable" i can say, the first opening was meh, the second was good but nothing special.
One ting i like a lot about my series are the characters.........in Guilty Crown, thats the weakest point. Is hard to actually like a character, there are some that you may like but .......Characters have potential, but they dont develop them well, instead they may end of ruining it. The MC himself is pretty inconsistent, is really hard for me to KNOW the character´s personality because his personality is inconsistent. Have you heard of mood-swings? well, he has personality swings. They also try to go with many character archtypes: From the unemotianal girl based on Rei ayanami to the full of Energy character........and they still fail to make appealing character. My list of liked characters is reduced to only 4.
The plot is, how do i say it, in the first episodes it was pretty boring, with only a few being decent, then ACT2, which is filled with a storm of plot twist, that yeah, they are good, but said plot twist, again, are poorly developeved with poor foreshadowing and if anything, they only surprised me becuase they were too sudden. (Think of Code Geass R2) the most memorable case of this being Episode 17. (That episode will haunt me untill ep18 launches)
Ugh, im not really good with reviews, but in any case, i hope this can help.
On the other hand, i wouldnt say its a terrible anime since i can still enjoy it (And drop for a long time before picking again) but if you want to kill time then you should.

Thanks, Rey. That was pretty comprehensive, and gives me a good idea WHY I should steer clear. But, after that, I might still download it for a last resort when I go through everything else and am sick of rewatching my favorites! And. . . no Ergo Proxy/Wolf's Rain love? I really just want to find other people who like these shows. Or to convince SOMEBODY to watch them. They're among the best anime ever, but it seems I'm the only person who's seen them or appreciates them. Hold me, Dai Sato. Hold me.

Winners like Guilty Crown? Watch it. It manages to blend fantasy, cyberpunk, mythopoeic, dystopian, apocalyptic, theriomorphic drama into a single series. Seriously, it's one of the most moving dramas I think I've seen for not being strictly a drama. Actually, I think the last few episodes (concluding OVA) match surpass Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 but with the gripping pacing of an action oriented series instead of a gradually concluding drama. I've let you dictate much of what I watch because of similar tastes; mutual tastes work both ways. Watch one of the best shows ever! As for Ergo Proxy. . . I admit, it's for nerds. . .just like anything written by this guy There are even four all-important entourages named Derrida, Lacan, Husserl and Berkeley (don't know what the fuck that poser Lacan was doing in there ). But aside from all the dystopian humanitarian solipsistic phenomenological psychoanalytical Sophia-Loving, the show holds its own even if you're not willing to scrutinize it. Really, the only flaw is that after the mid-way point they throw in some completely meaningless filler episodes that detract from the pacing. But the themes, characters, writing, and setting were perfection. Also, random memory retrieval from discussing those last two: Gilgamesh. It wasn't the most masterfully executed, but it was original, and quite intriguing (see theme/genre list from above two). (and anyone who would recommend me shows but not heed my recommendations is a dirty hypocrite! )

Legend of the Galactic Heroes. 9.12 rating on My Anime List??!!! And 110 episodes to boot! I prefer shorter shows to suit my attention span (ugh, still 44 episodes of Monster to watch if only it wasn't so damn slow), but it it's so universally loved I can't NOT add it to the folder! How the fuck did I never even hear of this show until now?

It is a really old show. WWII in space. You can also make a drinking game out of how many people die per episode. Admittedly I never watched it (out side of some raw eps I saw in Japan) due to the series length, but I always wanted to because it had such a good reputation.
Also modern Shonen series make me laugh about how Ranma 1/2 held the highest anime count to an anime series back when I was first getting into anime.

It's like the character development for Gundam (where not just the heroes, but even the villains are given motives, characters arcs, and growth) minus the focus on marketable giant robots and forced mid-series upgrades. Also large theater war.. IN SPACE
...or so I've heard. <_<

I want to give a big ole thanks and bear hug *BEAR HUG* for some of the great recommendations you guys have given me. Over '11 I was coming to really dislike anime because I didn't see anything I really loved for almost a whole year. I was honestly watching five minutes of a show at a time whenever I ate, and seldom even got through an episode a day. I'd planned to just give up and start rewatching all the older shows I know I liked, but you guys saved me from despair! --Karura in particular gets Special Thanks for freakish good anime tastes and a scarily synced knack for pointing out amazing series/movies-- And Rey gets a big ole hug just for being Rey! I still have a huge list of shows to go through, and I'm confident that I'll like each one, if not love it. You guys are the bestest.
