ParanoiaDragon, if so then tell me something about the PS3, that is sooooooooooooooooo amazing. Okay? Videogames hasn't been amazing since the mid 1990's. After Nintendo duced Sony in it's deal. That was when videogames stop being fun.
Wryward, the storage size does not dipict, a better game exprience. The actaully game does.
Blu-Ray, Gween-donkey-ray. Red-ribbon-ray or whatever was not created for videogames, at all. Blue-ray was created since too many people was downloading and uloading DVD files to the internet. Anybody could just pop-in a DVD and change it to a Divx format ( which give the same quality but a smaller size ) and upload the file. Thanks to the PS3, people actually gained access to a cheap Blu-ray drive, that they used to upload games and covert to divx.
The PCE beats your PS3, since it animates big, huge sprites that is basically eqaul to animation. It can also do video, but since the PCE is for comic book people, the animation was better prefered. I believe all Ys fans on this board would rather support in game animation instead of FMV movies, that are really MPG. Every single song, and beat your PS3 can do, my PCE can do just as well. Every single frame of animation bliss your system can do, the PCE can do as well.
So in the end, your pretty much left with an expensive video player, that has a format that nobody treasures, and will eventually be out dated. Look at the PS2, and PSX. Is anybody high on those still? It is all PCE from here.

I have a confession. I've been watching Dragonball on my computer for the last 3 months. It's every bit as good as I remember.
Anyway I want to input my opinion here too! I agree the early/mid 90's were a sweet time for video games (pretty sure the SNES had one of the best video game collections ever) but lately I've become very optimistic about video games again. I think the indie video game genre has ramped up considerably in the past 2-3 years and while a lot of shit has been put out, there are a number of innovative gems available too. Couple that with the release or up-coming release of some of my favorite titles (New Super Mario Wii, Skyward Sword, Ys VII, Golden Sun Dark Dawn, Anything-Modern-Warfare, little big planet, to name a few) and I think it's a pretty good time to be a gamer. People may not agree with me, but that doesn't mean some people don't feel that way.
The PS3, Xbox360, SNES, Gamecube, Genesis, Atarti, PC..... really, who gives a shit? You're still playing the games you like. I find it a little odd that people can get behind a product and defend it like it's there child. Mac/Windows? Seriously? It's a product put out by a corporation. When my friend comes over, he doesn't punch me in the face for buying E L Fudge Cookies instead of Chewy Chips Ahoy.

Obviously, I know trolling is his general MO. But I've always been of the mindset that it's better to give someone the benefit of the doubt than simply to assume... so I'm going to debate this with him as seriously as possible, and see if anything comes of it. Consider it a sociological experiment. -Tom It's okay, if your serious replies stopped he wouldn't have anything to respond to. You do us all a great service!

Not at all true. The PCE is incapable of displaying in 1080p HD. You really go by those standards? Think about it, we had RGB all this time to give you a crystal clear picture, and your going to throw post 9/11 standards in my face. The whole point of Blu-ray was to put people in the same DVD trap, Newer is better nonsense. The PCE displays beautiful colors, with wonderful picture no matter what image size. If a newer television can't display a good Composite signal, then you have just been Slapped. This goes for every other system out there, up to the 360 and PS3 nonsense. Hell everything, and I mean everyting on the those system could have been done on previous systems. They just robbed the consumer blind of another 500 dollars. Nope, it is basically doing the just the same amount, however let me ask you, at which moment in any game do you need such detail, to actually enjoy the game??? Do you need to see the pilot in the cockpit of a shooter?? or the little gnats and worms details, of a dirty fighter??? Chidlishness. All of which that can also be done on the PCE. It is not the size that counts, it is what you do with it. Who said anything about the advertsment of Japanese animation? ? All I know is the PCE is the Fantastic four of gameverse. We need no more. Remember the louder they bark the bigger they barf. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ccaonvuKc8But two things, Once you buy something you are casting a vote. For each head that own a PS3 is saying that there is a market and somebody will eventually breakdown and buy something. Nobody makes 2D sprites games, on the PS3, since the majotiy of impulsive consumers, are not expecting that and if they did then they would be asking. Why? Why force me to buy this bastard system, when I could have been playing it on a NES. Why? The second reason is this. People need to buy out all the physical 2D games and leave the 3D games out on to be sun-burnt. t has to be a saturated 2D market , with 3D they can keep releasing gimmick after gimmick to make you buy the game. Gambit that is all I can say towards that. Try it, Try it Wyrd-wad-Tom. I am sure would play it, in a joust, with a louse, with a bear, in a sphere, ware or tare, or even elsewhere. I am sure you will outplay a PC Engine over a PS3, I am sure you will like it more than me, Wyrd-wad-Tom.

If a newer television can't display a good Composite signal, then you have just been Slapped.Too bad nobody notices color quality anymore. Golden Sun is a great example of using color to simulate 3D effects. Seriously though, don't cite that as a great achievement. It really isn't, it's something that people point out when they need things to point out. I mean that's like pointing out that Tom Cruise is short. He's still way richer and more popular than any of us will ever be.
