So Falcom has released pretty much most of the Ys games on the PSP so far. Strange how Origins hasnt made it yet?

I don't doubt that it'll be ported eventually, but I'm not crossing my fingers... unless they add voice acting and other new features, I probably won't bother anyway (I beat the PC version about 8 times). Oh, and they'd have to downgrade the graphics a lot more than they did with Felghana, too.
I think most of us are hoping for an Ys IV remake using the Seven engine.

Inthreed! Wait, that doesn't really work. >_< In...thirded? Bah. Either way, more Felghana-engine games would be very appreciated.

Infourthed (Even though I haven't bought Felghana yet); I want more RPGs with platforming.

I want more RPGs with platforming. I'm glad I'm not the only one who actually likes platforming in action RPGs. Everyone seems to complain about Felghana's, but I thought it was really fun, and a cute throwback to the sort of games I played growing up. I probably ought to properly play Gurumin one of these days since it's even more platformy. And since I have a computer that can actually play it nicely now! ^^

I liked the platforming too. Of course, I still play platformers, so I suppose it's a given that I'd enjoy it.

Not as a matter of urgency because you're playing a superior one, but do give Gurumin a go sometime. Also, I'd take an Ys IV remake using the Napishtim/Felghana/Origin engine... but I think I'd prefer an Ys IV remake using the Seven engine. Gonna have to agree to disagree here. I enjoyed Seven a lot, but nothing compares to the sheer awesomeness and adrenaline of the bosses in Felghana and Origin. Nothing. I'd be really disappointed if Falcom never used that engine again, because it's the peak of the Ys series right now for me.

I'm going to agree with Wyrd--a remake of Ys IV with the Ys SEVEN engine would be awesome. Gimme playable Karna and another playable Dogi!

I liked Seven's boss fights more than Felghana's. D:

Just take the Seven engine, replace the item menu with jump, up the scale, and you have the best base for a IV remake.
Although, I will say, Origin is still my favorite entry, with my favorite bosses...

You should at some point, it's a really fun game. Not as a matter of urgency because you're playing a superior one, but do give Gurumin a go sometime. Yeah, I've owned it for quite a while now, and I really liked what little I played of it, but it just didn't run well enough on my old computer to be worthwhile, and it was obvious that it was only going to get worse as the boss fights and levels became more complex. I guess I could have bought a cheap copy of the PSP version, but it seemed like a waste when I already had the PC one. In any case, Kiseki comes first, like you say! Which probably means that I won't play Gurumin for at least another year, considering the rate I play games at. Oh well. :'D You can have epic bosses with the Seven engine -- just remove items so you're playing each boss on three life bars. -Tom Yes, this is my main sticking point with Seven, really. Take out, or at least severely cap, the player's access to items in boss battles and I'd be quite happy to see another game on the Seven engine. I must admit I'd prefer another on the Felghana one, as I like my jumping around and my 2D sprites on 3D backdrops, but sort out the items issue and I'd still be first in line for another Ys Seven-esque game! Okay, so I'd be first in line anyway. But with less healing items I'd be camping out weeks in advance. :'D I guess I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot by asking for less items in boss battles, as they were often the only reason I got through Seven's bosses at all, but I really did miss the level of skill and finesse that Felghana's bosses demanded of the player because of the single life bar you were given. I felt it got especially bad toward the end of Seven, when you had the money and the items available to you to essentially just steamroller through most of the bosses. Seven's final boss didn't cause me anywhere near the level of heartache that Galbalan did, and I think I only died maybe two or three times across all of its forms, but because of that it wasn't nearly as fun. XD Oh, and it occurs to me that I'm asking for another Felghana-esque game when I still haven't played Origin, which is just that! And so my backlog of Falcom games grows that little bit more... :'D

Why's that? Origin honestly doesn't look any better than Felghana, to me. In fact, I'd actually say Felghana is the superior-looking game, as it has much more detailed (and animated) backgrounds. Origin takes place entirely indoors, so it has a rather "sterile" look by comparison. I'd think the water effects would have to change, for one. I don't think the PSP could do that kind of pixel shading work (assuming that v/p shaders are used to render the water). Also, I'm not certain, but I don't think the PSP has hardware shader support. I would think that Ys Origin was a lot more vertex/pixel shader-reliant than Felghana. Although to my discredit, I haven't turned these effects off to see the difference.

Yeah back when I first played it the water wouldn't even show up properly, it was just... black because the graphics card wasn't capable of handling it. Don't remember having any trouble playing Felghana on that card, either.

Origin has very heavy use of shaders, such as bloom, reflection and refraction, etc., and its bosses are fairly poly-heavy, but it's not too far-fetched to say that it could get a PSP port with (a lot of) tweaking.

I want all the Ys out on PSP so, I can have "the whole story" and not about graphics or shades or whatever.
I have not played Origin so, I would like this to be the next one out on PSP and then 4 and 5 which would be nice if they can package both Ys 4 into one game.
Although, Falcom must be making a lot of money with Ys 1 & 2 (at least profitable) because it's the only reason I can think of for them to keep re-releasing it. It's in its what? 10th reincarnation?
