Odd. I took a look at the Amazon page for Trails in the Sky again today and they had removed the ability to pre-order it. Now it simply allows you to sign-up to be notified when it becomes available for order.

I think the same thing happened with Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday, I went to preorder it, but couldn't, but I'm pretty sure they used to allow preorders!

If Amazon did the same with The 3rd Birthday, it was only temporary. I checked yesterday and today, and it is available to be pre-ordered. On the other hand, Trails in the Sky is still not available again for preorder.

I can't wait for FC to be out! I would certainly like to play it. Did the Japanese version have some sort of "first edition" bonus or goodies that it came with? If there was, I may wait to see if there will be a "limited edition" like they did with Ys Seven.

Muhahaha!!! Time to prepare the money to buy it! I'm so happy that I finally bought a PSP so now just really anxiously waiting for the game to be released. cyboltHaha, I think almost all games sold in Japan have "first edition" bonuses. It's quite popular over there and XSEED so far seems to be following that too except for perhaps Ys I & II that is being released next year. If I'm correct, didn't Working Design was the first company who did that too when they localized games?

Sorry to bring up an old topic (well, old as in the date, not the subject matter) EnternalYes, I am a fan of "first" and "limited editions so I was really glad to see that Xseed is going that route for the Ys and (hopefully) Trails in the Sky trilogy. Seems Ys I and II Chronicles are getting a special edition as well (Hair Metal Pack). I'm not sure if Working Designs was the first company to do so but they are certainly the earliest one that I can think of and the first one that comes to mind when thinking of older companies.

Trails in the Sky is still not listed on Amazon.ca. This is unsurprising, because Amazon.ca sucks. Just out of curiosity, what is the official translation for "majuu"? I'd really like to know.

Yeah, that one. Thanks! I was curious because of the way it's contrasted with the outright 魔物 in 3rd.

Well, since the only difference is that the first are natural while the second are supernatural in origin, you could probably get away with calling them demons..
Sorry for bugging you XD

If anyone is curious, Amazon has opened up pre-orders for Trails in the Sky again, after disabling the pre-order feature for a while. They must have made the change sometime between when I checked it yesterday and today.

Exciting! Don't delay the release, the current date means theres a good chance I could order it from somewhere like Play-Asia and have it arrive in time for my birthday!

I sincerely hope that XSeed is able to have the games on PSN when they're done with translating the games, because the mystery of the PSP2 (which will apparently be revealed on the 27th of this month) has me very worried about UMD support. Knowing these games take a while to translate and seeing Sony ready to release a new platform has me pretty nervous about the success of the games, and if we'll even see all of them. And of course, the financial success of XSeed which I hope is in good standing isn't at risk at this, either.
And of course, this is a day one purchase. I have to deal with the three not-so-liked localizations by Namco until then...;_;

Is it a problem if I ask a question about the two games after the first release of Trails in the Sky? Considering some would say we're in the final months of the system, is there a bit of worry if you guys at XSEED will be able to strike the chilling iron rod on the PSP in terms of success, especially on what is probably a very costly endeavor? I'm not asking about profit margins but I think I'm a bit worried that if it doesn't do so well that it causes the XSeed/Falcom ship to tip over, which would be pretty awful for us non-Japanese folk. It also doesn't help I'd like to see the Ys crossover fighting game localized.

Alrighty. Here's to it going well for you guys, and I hope it profits. There's no reason in todays gaming age we Westerners should be missing out on good games from Falcom any longer. We get most of the Megaten games now, after all. And of course, a Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki US release would be lovely to have. [/size]

Falcom's excellent games remain (mostly) unlocalized and unappreciated, while we're being bombarded with that overrated Persona tripe. It should be the other way around.

Probably not the right place to ask this, but, besides Ys 1 & 2 & the TitS series, are there anyother games you guys have secured(I'm not asking for names). I would assume there's a few more games in your guys hands to be worked on.
