I finally finished all my work today, so I thought to start playing Sora no Kiseki SC.
However, for some reason, I can't quite figure out how to transfer the save data from FC. This is for the PC version by the way (and the Traditional Chinese version if it matters).
From what I can tell, I need to copy the contents of the "ED6" folder, containing the FC saves to the "ED_SORA2" folder, containing the SC saves. However I don't understand what they're really asking for.
What I've done is find my way to the folders where the save data is located:
FC:
C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ED6
SC:
C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Falcom\ED_SORA2
(I'm using Windows 7)
I've tried copying...
1. the contents of ...ED6\save to ...ED_SORA2\save 2. ...ED6\ to ...ED_SORA2\ 3. ...ED6\ to ...ED_SORA2\save
Nothing is working so far, I don't see any option to load save data when I try pressing Start on the title screen (and I've definitely beaten FC) : (

In the Japanese version at least you don't have to copy anything. SC can see FC's save folder and asks you if you want to load your FC complete data when you start a new game.
So unless the company behind the Chinese version changed that...

I've not tried it myself but I'm sure the system would be exactly the same - I've used Japanese SnK saves on my traditional Chinese versions of the game and they just work as soon as they're copied into the save folder.

I finally worked out how to do it. The save transfer does seem to be exactly the same as the Japanese version, however the manual is really vague about how to do it and I ended up misreading it in various ways.
The main problem, I believe, was caused by running the game on Windows 7. For some reason, SC's saves are stored at
C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Falcom\ED_SORA2
But the game reads FC's saves from
C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Falcom\ED6
instead (I had to look up on the internet to create the Falcom\ED6 directory there). Which I guess makes sense if you think about it :S

Then again Vista/Win7 save folders are just a mess anyway so whatever, so long as you've got it working
