Call it Ys-2. . . . You want Terra in? I love you. I was thinking Ys-2, but we already have the Korean one and the II one... Terra is awesome I hated her at first when she sent a BOAR at me, but then there was <3. Plus she grew up amazingly fast. And is spunky! Spunky is good.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I'd like something a bit more relevant to the overall story this time, but Romn might be too climactic at this point in the series.
Even if it's just Ys Seven-2 I would play it and love it, though.

So... Aisha, Mishera and Cruxie as the only playable characters, everyone has skimpier outfits, they can freely swap skill sets mid-battle and the goal is to rescue Adol from, uhhh, the Eldeen who's his ancestor and who looks just like him and who was sealed away by Feena a thousand years ago?

Glad you want Karna back And I think it´s Niena /Niina, no Mina (just to make it clear ) Oops! It'd been a long time... mind... you... I can read Kana, but I have a bad memory. I played it like a year ago, and not reading her dialogue well, I have no clue what importance she had to the plot. Well going with the Adol's Angels idea, it could be a series of short stories where the girls are working together to take on minor adventures at Adol's behest but they're all secretly just trying trying to actually meet up with Adol again. At the end of ever story it seems like they're about to see him when something silly happens to prevent it from happening That's aaaawesome. Awesome awesome awesome. Or they get lured together by Feena and Reah. I actually kinda like that idea. They "left" which means they're somewhere... So... Aisha, Mishera and Cruxie as the only playable characters, everyone has skimpier outfits, they can freely swap skill sets mid-battle and the goal is to rescue Adol from, uhhh, the Eldeen who's his ancestor and who looks just like him and who was sealed away by Feena a thousand years ago? ...Hrm. Oh! No! They have to unseal the legendary warrior Yunica, who didn't die after continuing the Tovah line! More Yunie!!! Hmm, I'm not sure. I'd like something a bit more relevant to the overall story this time, but Romn might be too climactic at this point in the series. Even if it's just Ys Seven-2 I would play it and love it, though. To be honest, I agree with you 100%. But its fun to be silly.

Even if it's just Ys Seven-2 I would play it and love it, though. This. To me the world building in Ys is kinda weak. The strength of it is that there is continuity and we can even pinpoint all the games on a map. But the locales themselves are not that impressive. Regardless of where Adol has been, we always end up with fire areas, ice areas, forests with giant trees, towers, etc. Heck, suddenly Napishtim is seeming like the most original of the games as far as locale is concerned. The most awe inspiring locale was used in the second game, a giant island floating in the sky. Thankfully I don't play Ys for the world. I play it for the music, the action, and the characters... in that order

I don't know, I really liked the art design in Altago. It managed to stick to tradition, but added a lot of freshness in its details.

What's Ys VIII, then? Journey to Burger King? Or perhaps a smaller nation like Wendy's.

OK, so Romn sounds pretty good, but I feel like I'd want to save that for a big number, like Ys X or something. Garman would be pretty cool too, maybe Ys Nine. However, what I'd like to see for Ys 8 (yes I know my numbering isn't consistent, neither is Falcom's) is for Adol to go to Britai. I mean hardly anything really mentions it, and I'm sure it would have as much or more ancient civilizations than even Esteria! It might be the start of a trilogy which features game changing ancient tech leading up to a large scale war with Romn over a world destroying weapon from the days of the great old ones of Canaan. Britai and Garman both are likely to have a lot of ancient secrets. Then after Ys X, we can go to Russia and Asia.

I mean hardly anything really mentions it, and I'm sure it would have as much or more ancient civilizations than even Esteria! Actually, that would be a cool spot to visit. Stonehenge Ys-style would be pretty neat. Not to mention that since it's geographically next door to Esteria they could throw some cameos in if they wanted to, or at least some mentions. Now that I think about it, it's been the even numbered games that have generally dealt with the overall Eldeen plot while the odd ones haven't (until the retcons) so VIII either dealing with another example of Eldeen ruins or a rival civilization would be appropriate.
