At least the battery life is decent (same as the 3000), given that this thing's pretty powerful.
Geuss we'll have to wait for GDC/E3 to find out more.

I can't believe how much of a 'war' this will cause though. Already people are arguing! To me, it's like... they've both got games. I want to play good ones, which I'm sure they'll both offer People argue about console preferences? No way! What a novel concept, this has never happened before in the history of the world ever. No, dude, I know that people do it. It's just, it kinda perplexes me. Especially since neither of these are out yet... Like, you said 'preference', which really shows that either side is justifiable... It is interesting that axioms (the inarguable) have no basis... which makes them the most arguable! And, well, there really are no axioms to what's good in the video game hood, y'know?

:D!
Will be getting both NGP and 3DS.
Eventually.
Depends on which one has a game I want first. :P
Hey, when's the portable Xbox coming?

Thank you Smithee for beating me to the "should be common sense but for some reason isn't common" statement. *passes torch* Gotta say I'm far more interested in this than in the new DS (in which I am not interested) some interest > no interest. Not happy with the lack of UMD backwards compatibility, mainly because I STILL haven't even gotten a PSP. Skipping to the next step seems less practical now. And I'm equally, if not more, annoyed as Varion if there's no TV out. I didn't even plan on getting an original PSP until I learned you could display it as such. . . At the risk of starting an opinion war on console preference, but I simply don't care for handhelds.

What are you referring to? All I see on the bottom is a USB port for connectivity (and, I assume, charging) and a headport port. Looked pretty hard but there's no evidence of TV Out to me :/ The last hope were those two 'slots' on the top that are covered over, one I assume is for game cards, I have no idea what the other is. But seen as it's not on the lists of ports and stuff I've given up, I'll just have to hope they add it back in for the PSP2-2000! The back touch pad is for whatever developers feel like using it for. It's 1:1 to the main screen so I think it's mostly just going to be used to imprecise movements like climbing up vines (I this is what they used it for in the Uncharted demo) without your fingers getting in the way of the screen. Ah fuck, for whatever reason I thought that was the tv-out. THE HEADSET PORT! IT TRICKED ME! Damn, I like playing games on the TV too. I mean, its not like they couldn't do it with the touch screen, just display the image on both! As for the touchpad on back, it looked pretty cool when they were demoing the game where they were rolling around the little balls or whatever they are.

Lack of UMD support really kills my interest in this. Don't want to purchase digital copies of my games just to play them on the PSP2.

I was referring to the stack of UMDs on my shelf. :/
I was really hoping that Sony was gonna have awesome BC like they used to in the past, so I could trade in my PSP. I'm getting way too many handhelds shoved in my drawers nowadays.

well, yeah in that case, I'm kinda with you in that department, except that I wouldn't trade in my PSP anyways as it's a limited edition PSP from Japan. that and it was bloody expensive. T_T

Oh boy Sony is really following Ninty's bandwagon for including a touch screen. But that's not my major criticism of that handheld. The NGP is not "100% backwards compatibility". Yes you can still play the PSP games but only the digital versions since it has no UMD tray so I can't play my PSP Ys games on that handheld. But I'm amazed on it's great features especially that real 3D environment when moving the NGP on any direction. Btw since Nihon Falcom is also committed on making their games for NGP, can we expect Ys 8?

I'm getting way too many handhelds shoved in my drawers nowadays. I wasn't expecting BC at all, so this is a pleasant surprise. See? It's all about being pessimistic. (and really, the UMD needed to disappear, it's not worth keeping it alive for BC)
