My wallet is kind of wishing that XSeed wouldn't churn out all these releases so quick. X'D Ai poverty!!
But since I'm harassing me friend to order Tactics Ogre for me anyways, might as well throw this in too...
And since I'm grabbing the two... might as well finally pick up Ys I and II Chronicles to complete the box set side art thingy too..... :'D
D:
On a side note though, somehow that poster did not get me too excited. :< (Not very fond of that picture thaaaat much?) But that badge though......! :'D One wants!

Will she be growing it to Rapunzel length so as to have enough to go around for the SC translation process? I mean, you all are taking some time off to wind down from the Ys marathon and FC before jumping into the hair-pulling insanity that is the next game, right?

There's a massive difference between "proper localisation" and "LOL meme inserts I so FUNEE". I have no problem with translations that aren't word-for-word accurate to the original, and I've got no problems with a Japnese pun being replaced by a more appropriate Western one, but I *do* mind perfectly sensible dialogue being mangled just because someone with a text editor felt bored at work one day.

<_< You should've seen me go off on the Phantasy Star Portable 2 localization. While overall well done, the translator loved to change terms and item names so they would be more natural in English (in the translator's mind) but absolutely broke consistency with previous translations in the Phantasy Star series.
examples: Braver->Vanguard Machinery->Synthetics Partner Machinery->MySynth
And in other places they just outright fucked up on romanization: Tsumikiri Hyouri->Tumikiri Hyori Tsu->Tu? really?

Let me guess, the translator learned using the JSL system. I thought possibly, but there are other instances where Tsu is romanized as Tsu. Inconsistencies abound!

I never change "perfectly sensible" dialogue. If I make any changes, it's either to irrelevant "filler" dialogue, or it's a change that remains consistent with the feel and personality of the original Japanese. I never make anything serious into something silly/stupid, though, and I never change the meaning of anything that's being said. Basically... I take liberties where I can afford to, in an effort to add life where previously there was none. -Tom Except for the that little incident in Felghana's prologue novella, at least. But as long as nothing like that ever happens again I have no particular qualms with your localizations.

What HJ said. I'm really happy with the Ys localizations so far, but that one scene was a little... yeah. >_>
Also, I agree with Yakra about the poster. I feel like I'm going to absolutely love Estelle, but I was never too fond of that picture.

I'm curious. X'D What was this addition in the prologue that has you all err-ed? Or am I not supposed to ask that? (is it spoilery to say out loud?) [Like with most games these days, I got OiF (or rather, was given as a present <3), but I have... yet to find time to play it. :'D *stabbed by all and pointed to le Ys backlog pile*]And looking forward to finally seeing Estelle story too! She really seems like a character I'll love, gathering from all that I've read and heard thanks to Kimimi and SkyeWelse~

It was something like Adol putting his finger to Dogi's lips to cut him off mid-sentence.

Okay then. \o/
Also, I just had a thought. If it took this long to finish FC, then won't it take an incredibly long time before SC is released? D: Not to mention I'm not even sure Jess will have the sanity to finish it, if it's two discs long.

Great, let's add more stress to the people facing the herculean task of localizing SC. Fortunately, this isn't an ideal world where people can immediately afford to shift to the newest console as soon as it comes out and if they do, it's not like people still won't be buying UMD games for a fair while. They're still releasing a handful of PS2 games even now and not all PS3s can play those. Edit: Dangit, I got ninjad by Wyrd.

Trust me, I'm doing everything in my efforts to get people I know to buy FC. Which, frankly, is kind of hard, considering I don't really have much to go off of except the minimal knowledge I have about the game. D:

Speaking of that, I noticed earlier today that VincentASM, who is probably the most well-known and important guy within the English Fire Emblem fandom, was hyping the game on his site's forums (the largest FE forums out there, pretty active in general too).
Seeing as I used to be a big part of the FE community it was kind of a neat discovery.

Don't worry Wyrdy, atleast I love & appreciate your work! I never have understood why people are so anal abotu this kinda stuff. Some stuff is translated waaaaaaay too litterally!
Also, isn't Final Fantasy Type 0 2 UMD's? I wonder if that'll be on PSN?
Also, I too have been spreading the word where possible, & I have gotten the attention(& pre-orders) of atleast a few people who didn't know about the Ys or LOH games for PSP!
Also, the PSP2 is BC, so, maybe Sony will have a way of transferring UMD's to it via a device of some kind?

I've been passing the word around about this game to some friends of mine who love RPGs though knowing them, they probably already played the JP/CH versions years ago.
Well, gives them another reason to play again.
Hope the problems with SC manage to get worked out. As much as I would like to see SC and such on the PSP2, I don't think I'll be "Day 1" on it and I would hate to have to wait so long for the next game. D:

Mmm, I may pass on the premium edition this time. Got all of the ones for Ys (mostly for wanting to complete that darn spine art!) but there are just way too many other games coming out now. I don't even know how I'm gonna be able to balance all of this...

Can't wait. If the game will be released on March or April, I'll buy it in May. LE of course. Disappointed about the poster though since it will possibly be ruined with its folds but fine with me.
