i'm playing on hard... i've got adol max leveled and silver weapons but i can't beat him...
also realized that the rings and health item doesn't help (you can't use it). i know you're suppose to run around but it seems everytime i'm just a tad late. The max hits, is like 3...
after playing oath and 7, you realized how dumb (and yet super awesome) the bump is! lol

Try it on Nightmare sometime. In the Currently Playing topic I ranted about Vagullian already and how it stands out as the most bs, luck-based fight in all of Ys I
All I can offer to you are the following tips: -Don't try to outrun the bats. Keep them close behind you or else they have a higher chance to intercept you -Pause in the corners as long as comfortable to allow the bats to catch up to you (and hopefully bunch up) giving you a better chance of making it out of the left or right sides of the screen without getting hit -The only skill is how fast you can react to the bats turning into the boss and score a hit without getting hit back. Ideally you don't want to miss but on my latest playthrough, I beat him readily on Nightmare while still missing him twice -You're going to get hit. The fight is more about minimizing your chances of getting hit and crossing your fingers

well, i dont remember it being THIS hard on the PC or even the tg16 version... lol
i've maxed out the stats and there's nothing else I can do... but every touch is 5 health but i guess i can't move quick enough...
the most hit i've made was like 3... i even try running around in circles...
i doubt i'll touch nightmare...

It took me approximately 45 mins to defeat Dark Fact on nightmare mode.....the PSP version is definitely alot harder than any other versions..... but still awesome.

When I first got to Nightmare Dark Fact in Ys I Complete I thought he was impossible for a week or so. Then I tried to show some friends and promptly beat him in 3 tries.
I still haven't gotten around to finishing Ys I Chronicles, but in what I have played, switching the control scheme from free run to 8-way only made a big difference in being able to control things properly

Vagullian... hardest boss in my opinion... I mean, even Dark Fact is easier than this Batman. I beat him on nightmare but no real strategy was implemented. I just ran around the room in a figure eight dodging the tiny batty's while hoping for the best, and it worked after who knows how many times. But one thing is for certain, it takes skill to beat this bat ass.

now was your figure 8 a continuous run or just stopping in the corner?
cause i tried figure 8s... it was a continuous fail then i started running in circles.... super fail...

One thing about this boss battle is that your going to take hits all the time. My figure 8 was a continues run trying to anticipate when he would form up so I could get in and inch away some damage and run away again. It takes a lot of skill as well as luck. Both my health bar and his would be going down almost equally so when I actually did beat him, it was a very close call.

I'd think that a figure 8 would be detrimental as if Vagullian reforms towards the center of the room, you're going to not have much room to work with when the bats spread back out. Meanwhile if you stay at the edges the bats don't cover as much area where you can actually run when they spread
It's not a great probability that he'll do that, but like I said the only skill in this fight is trying to reduce the probability of you getting hit in any way you can

It's been some time now, but I recall there was a way to beat Vagullion on nightmare without taking damage, if I'm not mistaken, if you have enough patience.
I'm sure I DID talk about defeating him on Nightmare some time back, perhaps years. XD
As in, no luck involved.

Girls generally aren't good at video games that could be another deciding factor.

I've seen very very rare exceptions to that rule, and usually only specialized in a specific game, rarely an entire genre, and never across the board at games in general.
...I've also never seen a female competitively good at a fighting game. The all females SSFIV tourney at EVO 2010 was tantamount to mockery.

I enjoy the classic shooters a lot as well. Super Raiden for the Turbo Duo was one of my favorites. I beat the game including the bonus levels without taking a single hit and if I remember, I did it twice in one sitting since you restart the game when you beat it. I was a Turbo Duo fanatic by the way.
