I just finished Oaths, and I absolutely loved. But does anyone know where I should go next in the series? I have a Playstation 2, but I'd still prefer I keep the series to the PSP. Should I go for 7, Chronicles, or Ark first?

Not to disagree with Karura, whose list is temporally correct, but I would like to add that there's no true NEED to play them in order. Each game stands more or less on its own, excepting the first two, which always come together for a reason.
Also, you may not be a fan of the "bump" system used in the earlier games (some of us aren't), which would mean you'd want to stick with post IV games.
If if you're looking to get the most for your money, go Seven, which is like a dozen times longer than all the rest of the games (slight exaggeration).
Also, there's an Ys Origin which is a series prequel, but it's (to my knowledge) only on PC and only in Japanese. There is an english patch under way, but it's been under way for years now.
If you want something like Oath, I recommend Napishtim, which is the most similar (and my pesonal favorite, though I seem to be alone in that respect).

I don't really care about chronology. I think I'll just try to find all the games that Wikipedia listed as being on the PSP.

I will second that. I loved the PS2 one, but I've heard only bad things about the PSP port. Most reviewers give it like 2-3 less stars because of the god aweful load times, and I've heard the graphics took a real hit too. That I'm aware of, PSP includes Seven, Oath, Bad Napishtim, and Chronicles, which is a flashy new remake of the first two. It's still got the bump system, so it plays a bit different than you're used to.
In case you aren't aware, "bump system" means you run into enemies at an angle to fight. No attack button, no flashy jumping. It's still fun, but many of us who started with the newer Yses don't think it compares.

Meh. The whole bump system doesn't sound to great to me. I think I'll just pick up 7 and decide what to do from there.

Seven is has a slightly more tyical-RPG feel because of the party system. Felghana is another favorite of the series and is little faster-paced and harder too. You can't go wrong with either.

Oop, my bad. In that case, 7, then ark of napishtim, then maybe chronicles.
