Criteria: - Single playthrough
- Have to have finished/completed the game
- Based on timestamp from in-game clock. (If it didn't exist, then estimate the time. ^^)
All circumstances that made it long are applicable meaning you could have artificially made it long yourself! For example, I pumped in over 120 hours in Kingdom Hearts II. I believe it's supposed to be like < 40 hours or something for the average player? I think there was another game where I clocked in over 100 hours based on the in-game time but I can't recall what it was.

That would have to be Morrowind. I don't know the exact counter, but it HAD to be AT LEAST 300 hours. I think my Oblivion game clocked in at around 205, and Morrowind ate much more of my time. Like, entire days, for an entire month and a half.

Are we counting MMOs? Might have to say WoW. I had killed every endgame boss that was out when I quit, so that counts, no? Something on the order of 150 days. Played time. Yes, seriously. I'm not joking or proud of it. Bad times, those. I've been free of it for a good 2+ years now and now hate MMOs with a burning passion because of what that one did to me. ^_^ REAL GAMES? FFX. I put like 103 hours into it to do damn near everything. Biggest cock of a game? Persona 3. I didn't beat it, but it's like 80 goddamn hours long innately. I am not okay with that. Before I get chewed out again by who knows who: opinions.txt. Deal with it.

Mine would have to be the 150 maybe even 160 hours I put into FFXII. Closest I come aside from that would be 130 hours in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

I don't like games over 20-25 hours. That really hinders the ability to replay it often and good games deserve to be replayed. (30 hours is a grey area)
So not counting MMOs like WoW (several months on a single character) nor endless dungeon crawlers like PSU/PSP2(i) (700 hours on one character in the former, currently 270 in the latter) uh.. either FFVIII or IX at 80 hours. I forget which without checking my saves. In FFVIII I did everything but was missing a single card that I broke for items. In FFIX I did everything but get Excalibur II.

The 200+ hours I put into Final Fantasy Tactics A2 or Final Fantasy Dissidia.
And I don't even like Square Enix or most Final Fantasy games!

I don't think I've ever beaten a game that's very long on a single playthrough... well, I probably have, but don't remember. All of the games that I've played for hundreds of hours were games that I replayed constantly.
I put around 300 hours into Resident Evil 4 altogether, ditto for God Hand. I probably had 1500-2000 hours clocked for City of Heroes before I quit (and I really regret quitting). I clocked just over 200 hours in Bayonetta, for a more recent example. And Ys vs. Sora, I'm hovering at about 100 hours total.

Just about 75 hours for Persona 4, doing everything I could find within reason. I think P3 took about as long but I don't remember exactly.

I think I put about 240 hours into Advance Wars: Days of Ruin on the DS. The main campaign didn't take that long, but I wanted to clear every Trial and Free Battle map.
Then guess what... my DS with the game card inside fell out of my coat pocket as I was leaving an airplane and I didn't notice it was missing until I was already at the gate for my connecting flight.
I bought another copy to replace my lost one, and put another 130 hours or so into it. And I also have a ROM on an Acekard that I also wanted to clear so I think I have about 70 or 80 hours on it.

Sure, we can include MMOs but .... Those can actually be finished??? ^^;;
Kimimi: Didn't the story/writing in TLR bother you though? It just drove me crazy that there were many things that seemed to be left up to the player for interpretation. :/

I pretty much tend to clock up a huge amount of time in any game that I play. :'D It's very rare that I can end it under 60 hours (hallo Atelier Annie!). That said, the longest time I've spent on any game is.... ....I don't know. ._.' I think in recent memory, it might just be FFXII (second playthrough), with over 250+ hours. But I've come close to spending that much time with many games~! For some reason though, I have no clue why, Tales of the Abyss really sticks out in my memory, with me actually looking at the ingame clock for once and declaring 'wow! I'm about to cross 100 hours on this!'. And I think I most definitely more that crossed 100 hours on that, reaching almost 200! :'D Judging my game playing time with the ingame clock though is not totally accurate. :'D As I have this bad habit of turning a game on, and leaving it on while I converse with people around me, eat, look around, even have fanart attacks (the best example of this being FFXII with the Basch drawing spree I had! The ingame models and pausing them mid fight and being able to study them from all angles was a fanart-y dream!), before getting back to the actual story. If one was to count MMOs though, I think Ys Online easily takes the title of the game I ended up putting the most hours in. A total time nomer, I don't think I ever reached Ashurei's WoW levels, but I know it did get me stuck to itself everyday for almost one and a half years. X'D ...I'm kind of super glad that I cannot play it like so anymore. As nice as the game itself may have been, and the experiences within, it ended at just the right time. X'''D Would getting forcibly booted out of a game by an IP block count as 'Ye have finished!'?!

How in the world would such a pleasant Yakra get expunged from. . . anything?!I can't picture you doing anything to warrant such reprisal. (turns out ALoY Yakra is an act, and she is actually a villanous devil! ) And I'm surprised at all the people who have sunk such hours into FFXII. I COMPLETED it in 112. And that means EVERYTHING, level 99 party, every secret weapon and item, trophies, extra bosses, etc. I concur with the Yakra comment about Abyss though. I was shocked that it took me 105 hours to finish the game. (It and FFXII are the ONLY non Elder Squirrel games to ever eat that much of my time in one playthrough)

And that means EVERYTHING, level 99 party, every secret weapon and item, trophies, extra bosses, etc. Mine was about the same, the only exception was failing to get the Order of Ambrosia ranking. Not sure why I racked up the time I did though... I think it was due to some experimentation whenever I'd get bored and had nothing else to play. Not to mention I only had 3 lvl 99 characters so that definitely doesn't count in there anywhere.

Now I'm getting curious about my OWN play-time for FFXII. Guess I'll check that later since I have to reboot me system into XP first in order to use the video capture program. Otherwise, powering up the PS2 would be pointless since I wouldn't be able to see anything from the system.
Not that anyone needed to know that. :D!

Pokemon Pearl had about 390 hours on it when i stopped Dragon Quest VII had 125 hours and I still hadn't done the final dungeon or any of the post game. Star Ocean 2 I've had 100+ hour files, though now I can do everything within 30. Dunno what else. I know I have like 70 hours in BC2 but thats a shootan

I think the longest I ever played a game was like... 40 hours? I'm not very into long games.

200+ on Morrowind. Honestly can't remember, just know it was over 200 hours. 150 on Dragon Quest VIII for PS2. I'm a perfectionist, whatever time is needed, I'll do it.

Either 80+ hours to finish a fully complete run of Tales of the Abyss or the 95 hours I put into finishing Persona 4, though some of that may have been idling time.
