I was wondering if this translation will work with the chinese version of the game. This is only version available at play-asia and i can't seem to find the game anywhere else. Thank you.

Once the translation's released I'll give it a go and let everyone know - it'd certainly be a lot easier and cheaper for people to buy the game from Play-Asia than through Falcoms email system.

I been waiting for 2 years for the english version patch for Ys Origin. I'm so happy that is almos't done I look forward playing Ys Origin in full english. Heh, over 4 years here. Found the emails from when I originally ordered the game. 11/30/2006. Hard to believe it has been so long already. Bought it in anticipation of a patch back then even, well, it was also before a certain "event" that happened, which I shall mention no more of. Did play through the game once with Hugo, loved it, decided not to play through the other characters until I could understand it and enjoy it fully. Even though it is still very very tempting to play more, as I've been on a bit of an Ys kick lately, which playing through Ys I, II, and VI hasn't alleviated... It's close. I can wait. Really.

Very good. I've been waiting for this since the day it was announced! This will also help to ease my XSEED-Falcom blues.

Yahoo Japan is where I got my copy of Ys Origin, it cost hardly anything.
Can anyone answer my earlier question please? Is the DVD-ROM Vista version patchable or will the translation be limited to certain other versions?

I think all versions will be patchable if YsVI is any example.
On an unrelated note every time i see the little gray circle next to this board turn amber my heart skips a beat. One of these days it will mean the translation is done.

doppiapunta just updated again. www.figlidigaucci.eu/He's done testing Yunica's Scenario. He's having problems running the game on Win7 64 Bit but it runs fine on XP. I couldn't tell from his post but i think he's trying to run XP version 1.1.0.0 in Windows 7. He also mentioned support for vista 1.1.0.3 (the extra disk version) I know doppia reads this board and I hope he knows there is a Win7 Version of Origin that came out a few months back. I also think he said the testing should go quicker when he gets back from vacation. I'm looking foward to the final patch.

Hi guys thanks for your suggestion. Truly speakin' I imgined there was an Windows 7 edition but I never looked for it. So..now I'm sure a Win 7 dedicated version exists but I don't have any wish to buy another copy ( I already have to copies of the same game) in order to check that version. If someone on this board has that version please tell me. I don't really want to copy the game or to have a pirated copy I only need to know some things, that is to say game files installation structure and nothing else. I hope someone will answer to my request so we will be able to release two main versions: WIN XP dedicated one and win VISTA/WIn 7 dedicated one. I'm waitin' for your rsponse. Thank you in adavance for all the one will help us. Bye

Sorry I have the WinXP release with the extras disc. I hope there is support for V 1.1.0.3 because that is the version i have. I don't want to have to buy the game again. I Imagine the vista version would work better on Win7 although I'm not sure.
I think most people here have the vista version or the XP version with the extras disk. The Win7 version came out last April. 4 months ago.

Well.. for what we saw the 1100 version will work fine on both WIN XP and VISTA. If you have the DVD win XP version then you have the 1100 version. I think we will release a WIN VISTA and WIN 7 version too, since many people now own win 7. I have to buy another copy ( the third) in the case nobody will be able to help me. As told before I only need to check some files and to have a detail for the file structure...not a pirated copy. Bye Bye

The XP version + extra disk = 1100 version = XP DVD version ok?
Vista version is 1103 who is a standaalone patch released only for Vista users.
So the patch will wrork with extra disk since Xp dedicated patch will be for Ys origin 1100.
Still need to investigate the Win 7 version.

But I can update the XP install with the extras disc to vista 1.1.0.3 and it will work. Is this not right because I've played through the game 3 times like this.
There are 2 XP 1.1.0.0 one with the extras disc and one without the extras disk the one with the extras disk can be upgraded to vista 1.1.0.3
so i think XP with the upgrade disk is the same as the vista version. or maybe the first version of the vista version.
to clarify, these are the game versions as i know them: XP 1.1.0.0 XP with extras disk 1.1.0.0 Can be upgraded to vista 1.1.0.3 Vista 1.1.0.3 Win7 1.2.x.x

Any owner of the XP version can have or has the Extra Disc, though, so I wouldn't be concerned about that, personally.
Any XP version owner can (could?) ask Falcom for the Extra Disc for free (shipping not included, though). I think it might be possible that you are even given the right to download it, if need be.
