I know that this has been gone over in other threads. I used to have the PS2 version and used bit torrent to get the PC version. I then burned a CD of it and put it into the drive. It installed OK (at least i think because it followed the same process as Origin and Felghana) but then when i click the icon on the desktop it thinks with the blue circle and then....nothing. The folder that was recommended in the other threads has already been created by the installer and i don't know what to do. Im using windows 7 64 bit running in a vm (parallels) which will run Origin and Felghana just fine. Thank you for your help Edit 1: In my defense i would have bought it but i can't find it anywhere online. Secondly I've done as told and get a couple errors in the installation. [/img]Screen Shot 2011-07-29 at 10.20.10 AM [/img]Screen Shot 2011-07-29 at 10.20.14 AM It will then force me to exit the installer. I have previously uninstalled the old version from the disk and now have no way to access the application. Edit 2: Thanks for all of your help ive just decided to use pcsx2 and buy the ps2 version (again) and use that. My computer should be plenty powerful to do the task.

The problem as I see it is that you pirated the game.

I'm not quite so judgmental. First, I recommend not burning to disc. You risk errors as such. Download Daemon Tools and mount the ISO. After installation, be sure to update with the latest patches from Falcom. I've found that most older games don't work in Fail7 AT ALL without special patches, be they official or fan-made. And lastly, be sure to run in compatibility mode with Admin privilege. --apologies for patronizing should you already know this-- Right click EXE/application file, click properties, select compatibility sub-menu, click "run in compatibility mode" (for me it autoselects the appropriate setting), and then "run this program as an administrator" at the bottom. Should none of that help, apologies, and good luck.

Actually, after the dynasty crumbled, a new constitution was drawn up with more democratic ordinances. seldane.proboards.com/index.cgiboard=news&action=display&thread=5702&page=1If you read the first few posts, you'll see the issue of discussing (and even admitting) to piracy was vindicated, excluding the actual act, or dissemination of pirated goods. Without posting any links, nothing is in violation of established regulations. Of course, as part of the Triumvirate, your word is law, but I just wanted to point out that the official edicts are no longer so tyrannical rigorous. You should probably make a new post next time. Edits don't register as forum activity, so I wouldn't have even noticed this if not for Maggot's response. Anyway, I sadly don't know what to tell you in this situation. Best I can think of is that another (*cought* backup *cough*) ISO might do you better. There are inevitably dozens of different versions floating around (I've had to download plenty of games I already owned because of running issues). Due to forum rules I can't publicly tell you where to find them, but Google works wonders.

I would like to add a little more about YsVI install3 on post XP systems.
There are 4 base versions of the game with patches unique to them. These versions are
Limited Edition Standard Edition Vista Edition Windows 7 Eition
You have to patch the game with the correct patch for whatever base version you have. if you right click on the exe file and hit properties the version number will tell you what edition you have. The most common version I've seen on torrent sites is the LE. 1.0.X.X

heres the procedure I follow. 1) Copy the Ys VI downloads folder onto the computer somewhere safe and do not move it or rename any files.
2) I dont know which program you are using to run the files, maybe Daemon Lite or Alchol? Anyway, mount them or insert cd or whatever. Install instructions are in Japanese, but you can follow them like a usual installation, make sure the images are mounted.
2) Hit the ys6_1202.exe Japanese patch and just let it install, no matter how many times you install after that it will do the same thing.
3) Then install the legendary YsVI_ENG_v1202only.exe English patch. While it installs, please allow some wait time.
3) Play using the Ys icon on the desktop. This game is already joypad-enabled. It is strongly recommended to r-click the SETUP icon and adjust the dimensions of the screen and other executables before restarting the PC. If you want to uninstall Ys, do it in Help & Support (Start Menu): type 'uninstall'. ==================================== Troubleshooter (pre-patch):
This may be necessary for older PCs. It's very important to check that you have the Directx9 executables (config_dx9.exe and ys6_win_dx9.exe) inside the installation folder. So if you don't have these two files installed just look for them inside the folder inside the cds/dvd: X:\YS6_WIN\release\PROGRAMS\extra where "X" is the letter unit of your cd/dvd drive. Just take the two main executables and copy them inside the root of Ys VI installation folder, If you don't copy these executables before applying the patch the installer won't update them. Then run the patch installers. If you did the correct steps and the game is correctly installed the game will be completely in the English language.
