I got the Zero no Kiseki Special Collection Book in the mail last week and thought I'd write a report on it. First off it has NO details about Ao no Kiseki, though there is a foldout poster with the Ao character designs. It also doesn't have much info that the Dengeki Materials Guide doesn't have. What it does have is more pictures - the rough character designs that were left out or were printed very small in the Materials Guide are nice and big here. The story summary is very detailed, with screenshots of nearly every important conversation. It also has a list of all the NPCs in the game, including the temporary visitors in Chapter 3, with photographs and quotes. It also has the storyboard for the Zero OP and two-page spreads of some of the special wallpapers. There are also rough designs for some crafts, including some that weren't used in the final game, like Lloyd's Thor Hammer and Randy's Inferno. The editorial staff also clearly had a lot of fun with this guide. There's a relentlessly cheerful chart of Randy's traumatic past and fake Gnosis testimonials. They even managed to fit in some heart marks into the section on Marconi. ^^; If you don't have the Materials Guide, I'd say get this, especially since that's rather mediocre as a FAQ and the pictures are nicer here. If you already have that I don't know if this is really worth it: if you're a fan you already know everything in this book! But the pictures are nice

Thanks for sharing. I really have to start collecting these books, don't I? Right now all I've got is the SnK World Guidance, though the FC/SC Scenario Books will be coming with my copy of Ao. Sounds like I'm missing a lot of fun. Interesting about those unused Crafts. Dunno about Inferno but seeing how Lloyd appears to be leaping into Low Earth Orbit in that new S-Craft from the promo, I wonder if some part of Thor's Hammer survives in whatever that move gets called. There's a relentlessly cheerful chart of Randy's traumatic past and fake Gnosis testimonials. And it has absolutely no side effects whatsoever! Any rumors you may have heard about horrible transformations and zombie apocalypses are clearly lies being spread by deluded followers of Eidos. Wa assure you that we only have goodwill for all mankind in our hearts and would never hurt so much as a child.

Where did you purchase the book from? I'm thinking of buying the Falcom 30 Yr Anniversary Book that's gonna be released in November, but Amazon Japan's shipping at 3000 yen makes the book over $100 Canadian... that's even more expensive than a biology textbook =/

I got it through Falcom since I had another item to order from them at the same time, but I would suggest Yesasia for the free shipping to Canada.

Thanks for the suggestion! Did a quick search on YesAsia but I don't think the book's up for preorder at the moment, here's hoping that they put it up sometime in the next few weeks...
