What do you normally do when you finish a Ys game? Such as grind more levels, explore, collect items you missed, playthrough harder challenges etc. From playing all Ys except IV/V/Origins, Ys Seven is bloody awesome as I can't get enough of it. I find myself just touring the whole map, smashing everything in my way, revisiting all dungeons, listening to the amazing music... I think this is the only Ys game I'm gonna level to 99, and has not once felt repetitive

I like to just mess around in various parts of Ys I & II. Generally, I try to apply my knowledge of the games to bypass certain events, or at least try and discover new glitches (most of them are of minor importance). Otherwise, I'll try and do the bosses under-leveled (mostly Ys I's bosses), as I find them kind of easy during a normal playthrough.
I'm probably in the minority for these sorts of things, though.

Ehm I go in cycles of playing oath, 7, chronicles, origins, and sometimes IV. Been doing that for over 2 years now so I guess I dont get sick of Ys!

I can't say I've ever gotten bored of Ys, but it amazes me that even playing multiple versions of I & II countless times, I still always get lost trying to get through Solomon Shrine (Palace of Salmon). That has caused me to just quit playing sometimes.

I don't really get bored of Ys either. I can name my least-favorite parts of many of the games, however: - Darm Tower (Ys) - Rastin Mine (Ys II) - Solomon Shrine (Ys II) - Abandoned Mine (Ys III / YsF) - Darm Tower (Dawn of Ys) - Ruins of Amnesia (Ys VI) - Limewater Cave (Ys VI)

Bored? Never. I do get side-tracked away from it at times, though. XD Like right now, I'm high on LoM. *shot* But would still interrupt that for some Ys anytime.

Leaving the Ys experience is soo painful (or any other Falcom for that matter), especially in Europe, leaving me hunting for goodies on the Falcom website and CD companies.
My fave part of Ys is the snowy mountain in Oath.

I'm always surprised when people say they don't like Darm's Tower. I think it's the best final dungeon in the entire series--the whole concept of being in this enormous tower with no way out, as you're climbing up to the top to face the Big Bad. There are a lot of other things I really liked about it but that's for another topic, I supposed. As for the topic at hand, I can't say I've gotten bored of Ys yet. Recently replayed Chronicles and OiF, and now I'm starting up VI, although I will admit VI isn't exactly my favorite in the series.

I've been playing Ys I Master System for some Minecraft research and maaaaaaaan does that game bore me. Movement is so slow, there's pretty hard cutoffs when you actually damage a boss and when you can't so it enforces grinding, and the mines.. oh the mines. I think I hate the Mines worst outta any area in any Ys but that has to be the smallest viewing area I've ever seen in 'em!

Yeah, that specific version is THE slowest Ys game ever.
(I still find it fun, though. XD There are some neat stuff.)
