GLARGH.
Downloaded DJMax Clazziquai edition but it wouldn't load on my PSP. I could only watch the intro but going into the game proper was a no-go. Same thing happened to Tales of Rebirth a while back. :/
As a result, I have decided to FINALLY upgrade my damn custom firmware. I thought the plump PSP couldn't go above 3.5x but it looks like it now can!
I just got it to 3.52 M33 but I'm still going to move up a bit. Here's hoping I won't brick the damn thing. :P
Ended up at 4.01 M33-2 so I could use RemoteJoyLite properly. Well, I guess it works with earlier firmware too but whatever. I spent most of my morning just upgrading the plump PSP constantly! I went from 3.40 OE-A to another and another and another (cuz the n00b tutorial I was reading went step by step and said you HAD to have this older FW before upgrading to the next one, and the whole cycle started again with the next FW upgrade, etc.). Eventually, I just stopped milling around 3.xx and jumped straight to 4.01. :P
Anyhoo! DJMax Portable 2 gameplay! 'Tis one of my better runs!
Addendum to my post about DJMax Portable above: There's also no fever mode in that game. Fevers basically increase the speed the notes drop at but more importantly, you get combo bonuses! At 2x fever, your combo count doubles, at 3x, it triples, etc.!
Fevering is only available in Portable 2 onward.
Gonna record me some Clazziquai now. I can't believe the game has 2 BUTTON MODE. 9___9
Ugh. Turns out I can't use RemoteJoy or RML with the damn game at all cuz the game stops outputting once it hits the PSP logo. >:( I could swear it worked with RemoteJoy (not Lite) before I upgraded to 4.01 M33 though.
So I tried to use the other set-up again and it still didn't work. SIGH. I'm using the digital camera again. :P

You really need to start writing an expansive article on this genre Nunuu. You have to be the biggest fan I have ever seen, and I think the video game world would benifit highly from a really good write up. Talk to MP83, who just submitted a supreme article on LoLo. Nothing would make me happier than to see a write up by you, on HG101.

Wait, What? DDR-ish MMO? Who, what, when and really.... Why? And I choose you Nunuu (man way too much like Pokemon), because it really shows that she has a soft spot for the stuff. Its great imo.

Wait, What???? DDR-ish MMO? Who, what, when and really.... Why?] Yeah like, I can't imagine a bunch of people stomping on a dance pad in front of their computer and trying to type (re: chat) at the same time. If anything, they'd be using the keyboard, right? It's like StepMania! XD And nooooooooooooooo, no DJMax articles from me. I am teh suck at the game and wouldn't be able to give an accurate description of the series. (I think even casual players can do better than me in the games. :P)

I love DDR, and wanna play Beat Mania. I love rythm games in general (even Singstar). Guitar Hero is pretty cool too, although I can't use any of the guitars beyond #2 without being all craptastic. They just don't *click*. Get it?

You know, Guitar Hero and all those guitar/band games out right now are of no interest to me. It doesn't help that I think the character models are hideous. :P
And it also seems like they're party games and more or less meant to be played with more people than just you and yourself.

They also suck when compared with Guitar Freaks and DrumMania -Tom Oh yeah and how about real guitar too. The first game was ok, and its a great way to teach rhythm (duh its a rhythm game), but it gets old fast. I enjoy ripping the same songs with a real guitar, and its WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY funner. I for one have written the series off, as I really don't care to play with a child's version of using a real musical instrument.

I swear, even when I get good at guitar (I have one, although I might sel it so I can get the new PSP. I don't really use it much and it is fucking TOO big) I'll still play Guitar Hero. Of course, I only play it like twice a week max. It is the people who play it 24/7 that piss me off, ha ha.

How are you playing, standing up or sitting down?
Are you tucking the guitar between your legs, or holding it on your thigh (same side as pickhand)?

Guitar Hero is fun. Rock Band looks fun but the vast majority of the songs are so goddamned mediocre or worse; Harmonix blew their wad putting all the better stuff on the earlier games.
They are definitely party games. Guitar Hero by yourself is fairly depressing.

The latter Geez sorry I missed this, but is your guitar Acoustic?? You should try standing and walking around when you play. Sitting is nice, but it has its limits.

Thanks for the advice! Although, it doesn't matter much now, I can get comfortable now! Plus, it was you who got me into playing it again How the hell do you play DDR without your legs getting tired! I already have enough problems for it (Osgood Schlatters, and arthritis!) which make it harder to play, but my legs get really in pain for some reason! Like the muscles! I can run fine, and dance normal, but this game! Argh! It hurts me, and I dunno what I'm doing wrong! I'm gonna try different playing style today, and hopefully that'll help!

So... DJ MAX.... Where do I start? And do I really, really need a PSP other than 1000 to play this? Any PSP will do. You just need to keep upgrading the firmware. :P I believe the games typically come with FW upgrades though. Also, there's a PC version of the game now called DJMax Trilogy. Apparently, it'll be the version that North American users can use to get online for mad DJ battlin' (re: network play). I'm expecting my copy of it (along with the Black Square limited edition. Fufufu~) tomorrow or some time early next week. :3
