As a huge DJ MAX fan, after a month of sparing every cent, eating only bread with cold water ( ), i ordered DJ MAX Trilogy together with MUSE ON Controller, cant wait! Anybody own it? here is the controller: www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-1i-49-en-70-3cjs.html

I'd say the MUSE ON controller is pretty bad for DJ MAX Trilogy. The note charts in the game are very well designed with the default keyboard layout in mind, where all of the keys are in a row and can be covered by a single finger (asdf jkl;). Some of the advanced hold notes and chords are uncomfortable if not even impossible on the MUSE ON's staggered key layout
The game itself is solid, but requires a lot of grinding to fully unlock. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard because it's a gaming keyboard that boasts being able to hold 24 simultaneous keys and is at a relatively cheap price ($60). Hopefully the keys'll feel good for a music game

Maybe you are right. If it will be difficult to play with muse on, i will sell it no problem And I know that trilogy requires a lot of grinding. Every dj max game requires it and thats what i love, even after year there is still something to unlock

I got my Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard in the mail yesterday and played some Trilogy on it.
Pros: -Using a keypress logging app I was able to hold down up to 22 random keys and have the app register them. Now the app is a bit screwy at times so I may have been holding down more or less than that -It's only $60 retail (I actually got mine for $46 brand new from Amazon) -I like my keyboards simple and functional. The X4 isn't too flashy. It's slim, it's full-sized, it's jet black. -Only special function keys are music playback controls (play/pause, rewind, ff, volume up/down, mute), 6 programmable macro keys, a calculator button (love those), and a few other controls like selecting your macro bank & controlling the brightness of the backlight on the keys -The non-slide rubber on the bottom of the keyboard works very well.. if your desk isn't warped like mine is. Left side never moves, right side can slide a bit
Cons: -No integrated USB ports or audio jacks. -Backlight is red only.. rest of my computer has blue lights. Thankfully you can turn the key backlights off entirely -Keys are almost flush with the surface of the keyboard, laptop-style. I prefer raised, full-stroke keys. These keys also feel like half-stroke -Function keys (F1-F12) are about 1/3 the size of regular keys. They're still easy to hit, but aren't as big of targets. I dunno how playing Diablo II on this keyboard would feel ;P
Overall, I like it and if you're looking for a definitive solution to keypress ghosting like I was, then the X4 fits the bill without being overpriced and feature-poor like the Steelseries 7G

I think you posted this in the wrong topic. (: Unless "Trilogy" refers to Beat Mania or something? DJMAX Trilogy. :B

I think you posted this in the wrong topic. (: Unless "Trilogy" refers to Beat Mania or something? DJMAX Trilogy. :B Yeah sorry. The review was fully copied and pasted from what I posted on a beatmania IIDX community in a DJ Max topic. So just saying Trilogy there wasn't as ambiguous. ;P

d000000000000000des. Read about Utacchi at Siliconera this morning (in archive news ^^)~! The game is fun! ^O^ This player's got a lot of vids: www.youtube.com/user/importakuI'm playing it now and ... kept failing Anpanman no March on 5 Lane mode. :P (Played it twice only but still. :P) I wonder if 5 Lane Normal ever unlocks because the default for it is Hard. -________-;; I'm fine with flicks and the hold notes but GODDAMN, the stupid scratch notes kill my combos ALL the time. Now to check out the in-game shop to see if I can buy any new songs with the points I've just earned! :D Oh yeah, the game doesn't have a 9 Lane mode for those that are wondering. XD But ... there's a 1 Lane mode. -_______-;;;;; But ... holy crap. Cruel Angel Thesis on 1 Lane Hard is not easy. ^^; YAY! I can't afford anything right now! XD Songs start at 1200 points and I only have 1133. ^^~~ One Night Carnival is on this! WHEEEE~~~!!!!!

Hearing a remix of Pjanoo and the original used in some random Youtube vids made me dust off my turntable and start playing DJ Hero again.
Funny that it might be my first retail 360 game that I get all the achievements on. Even funnier that as of the first 2 weeks the game has been out I had already completed 46 of the 50 achievements. The only thing really holding me back from completing the "5 star everything on Hard/Expert" ones that I have remaining are the pure amount of mixes in the game. There's only a handful of truly difficult songs to score on and the cutoff for 5 stars is so low that it's not too difficult to use gimmicks to get the requisite score in a couple of tries.

I wonder if the DJ Hero bundle will ever go on sale for super cheap in the near future? (Hopefully, it'll happen AFTER I buy up all the new releases I want this year.) The price is really the only reason I'm not picking it up yet as I do want to try it. .___________.

DJ Hero is a fun game. I indulged in American consumerism at its worst and bought the Renegade Edition at full price, first day and then told everyone to wait until the price drops.
I was just looking on Amazon and the price looks mighty fine these days. $70 for 360, $60 for PS3. Heck, even the Renegade Edition is $101 & $80 for 360 & PS3 respectively. (all with the controller and game, of course)

There's bunches of DJ Hero sets you can get for 30ish on eBay from seller dealtree. Slightly used/scratched but it's not like the value of these things will ever go up given the "flop" of the game.
The concept seemed okay but anemic multiplayer in a music game really kills its value to me IMO.

The concept seemed okay but anemic multiplayer in a music game really kills its value to me IMO. 99% of music games are about the player competing with there own scores and abilities. That last 1% is GuitarFreaks/Dummania, Guitar Band Hero, and Rock Band. They're the only truly multiplayer music games

Interesting. I didn't even know about that game before seeing that vid. Seems to be most closely tied to Gitadora with a little Pop'n sweetness from the UI and music.
And wow I had completely forgotten about Pop'n Portable until just now. I was head deep into PSP2 when it came out and then forgot about it when all the other Spring/Summer releases started

I'd play more, but money is a lot.
Of course with my modded PS2, I could now just buy the controller and burn the discs. Heheh.

Seems to be most closely tied to Gitadora with a little Pop'n sweetness from the UI and music. And characters too. Ugly bunnies Mimi and Nyami are unlockable in this. >:( I really hate their designs (or Mimi's design since Nyami's just a palette swap). The best avatar I've ever seen/used was Vic Viper. XD XD XD Also!! 1 Lane mode~!

Oh man, I completely forgot about the DLC for the Taiko PSP games. ^^ www.siliconera.com/2010/06/03/taiko-no-tatsujin-portable-2-gobbles-up-god-eater-song/I find it amazing that Namco is STILL providing new songs for this title. O___o And for free!! Also, about DJMax Hot Tunes, it's apparently a repackaging of DJ Max Fever for the Asian audience. I do wonder if this version has ALL the fucking bugs fixed though. I was appalled to find out that PM Studios never did completely fix up all the crap that they messed up with in their PSN release of DJ Max Fever. If this company is going to be so stupid shoddy with their games, I may just stick to importing the DJMax stuff. Granted, the next one they do is supposedly not a port so maybe it won't suffer the same pathetic treatment. And yeah yeah, we should be thankful that games like these even get released here but geezus, do some QA before you put your work out and expect people to pay money for it. *wonders if Technika is buggy too?* (This rage is coming from someone that essentially bought Fever twice -- once as a regular retail version and the other as the limited edition THE CREW box set. >_>) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^O^ Miku and other Vocaloids in Taiko DS 3! www.siliconera.com/2010/05/21/next-taiko-no-tatsujin-game-has-hatsune-miku-in-it/

But wait, there's more!
The version 1.25 patch for DJ MAX Trilogy comes out today including new songs!
...ironically a crack for version 1.23 just got released that lets you play offline. Or if you have a legit dongle it can rip and use that for offline/online so you don't need your dongle to play anymore.
Just thinking about the bugs in DJ MAX Fever always makes me laugh. Especially the one desirable frame that insta-crashes your game and at least one mission that can't be completed due to songs being removed from it but the target score remaining the same.
