I have come to a crossroads in my life (and travels throughout the lands of Ys). I'm torn between buying the limited edition copies of Ys oath, or Ys 7.
I'm a huge fan of oath's ost and game play, and a huge Fan of art books and creative arts/concept arts. (yes the shiny goods are what's causing my dilemma.)
However, I am on a tight budget and can only afford one at the moment. which would you all suggest I get? *panics at the tough choice*
Unless someone has a spare copy of the art book that came with Ys 7, then I can only buy one! T_T

Why not go for the Ys Seven LE? :'D As Wyrdwad said, it has more art (and VERY gorgeous arts!). It also came with a super nice cloth map, which I found to be one of the nicest collectables I've ever gotten from any LE - far better than the 'standard LE stuff!'-stuff that... OiF seemed to have, and.... a mini ost cd (to compete with OiF's!).
Really, the only little bits that I liked about OiF's LE were the pretty calender and.... one track in the cd that I had heard no where ever before. Aside that, it was totally overshadowed by Seven's arty goodie bag. :'D
The art in the Ys Seven artbook though, if... my woonky memory is recalling correctly, were all the grand promotion pictures - stuffs that I think were found on phone cards, drama cds, etc. in the Japanese releases (of Seven, OiF, and Chronicles)? [Making it seem kind of like mini, mini, tiny 'Falcom History - Legend of Illustrations' type artbook. :'D]. I don't think I saw any concept arts like so... So if you are specifically looking for those, perhaps it might be wiser to just grab OiF, save for normal Ys Seven, and then grab Falcom's own Ys Seven artbook? :'D
*long woonky post*

As Wyrd said, the Ys SEVEN LE has better stuff in it and is the only way to experience Ys SEVEN right now (unlike Oath that has a PC & PSP release.... and I still say the PC version is better)
In time you can purchase both.

I should also note that it seems that the LE for Ys Seven is becoming more and more expensive, where I can still find OiF's LE for a cheaper price.

Unsavory Maggot can still find OiF's LE for a cheaper price. Ahhh, heh heh heh, thank you! I will buy it at a high price! Come back anytime! Stranjah! This is really good news for me, since I'm looking to get the US OiF and Chronicles LE ASAP! Once I do, the only PSP title I won't have two of (JP and US) is OiF, I think.

I'd go for Ys Seven. The LE is starting to get rare if amazon is anything to judge by. It's going up in price so I would grab Seven before the prices get to high.

T_T Are you still looking for OiF? Funny story, I ended up with 2 copies after the first one I received had a partially squished box and the calendar stand broken, and it's been a year-ish since I was told by amazon to send it back, but they haven't chased me around for it.... so if you're interested, let me know how much you're willing to spend and I could sell it to ya (the game is still sealed and all the extras are there, there's just the damage noted above ^^; )
