I'm using IPS XP 1.11.2600, I patched the main exe and it seems to work.

Any chance of a 16:10 patch?

I'm not sure why it's not working for some of you, but here's some more info:
The version I patched was indeed 1.1.0.0 (XP) T-Eng, the IPS was created with Lunar IPS (LIPS).
The artwork and HUD will still be stretched (or at least, I didn't notice much of a difference) -- but the visible area is expanded (Being able to see the entire battlefield for boss fights is pretty awesome!) and the sprites appear pretty stout. I could get around to a 16:10 patch at some point this afternoon, as sephirothtnh did openly provide the hexadecimal values and addresses for it.

Maybe it requires specific screen resolution? I tried 1280x1024. Could you temporarily upload patched exe? Upd: I've just noticed that the screenshot in the first post was actually done in 4:3 aspect ratio (800x600) . It's wrong screenshot or I miss something?

The offsets for what need to be changed are different for the different versions. So a patch for 1100 will not work on 1103 or 1110. I had been meaning to post this over here for anyone who missed it in the Ys6 thread. When I get off work later today Ill get some patches made for 16:10 and 16:9 for 1100 and 1103 if Unsavory Mascot doesn't beat me to it. Which he is welcome to do. I do not have version 1110 so if you want that you will need to read my original post in the Ys6 forum.
Rextor isn't 1280x1024 a 4:3 resolution? Using this patch you would get squeezing instead of stretching.

I mean that my current screen resolution was set to 1280x1024 in config and I expected it to be changed to 1280x720 (or 1820x1024) during playing but it was still 1280x1024.

You need to run the config and change the resolution to a widescreen one. Also I went ahead and did it now. Here are the patches for 1100 and 1103 both 16:9 and 16:10. They are IPS files I use Lips Just google Lunar IPS. I believe they are labeled understandably. www.mediafire.com/?y0p49d7bwos482f

Oh, you're right, there are widescreen resolutions now. I didn't expect that config is linked to yso_win so I considered the resolution to be changed artificially during playing. Thank you

I think I'll try it later. Can you guys make a patch for Felghana, too?

Felghana doesn't have the aspect ratio just blatantly sitting there in hex like 6 and origin do. Its possible It would need a horizontal field of view, HFoV, tweak. I do not however know what the current hfov is. Even just searching the common range would take a while and probably yield many false positives. I still intend on looking into it further when I get a chance though.

Hello, I recently did fake display interface patch for wine, that fakes the display information for Windows applications. My main reason for this was that I hated resolution switches and fullscreen applications that either changed my resolution suddenly or killed of my second monitor. As a side effect however, it allows me to run all Ys games on widescreen. Sadly this does not work with Eiyuu Densetsu series as it just fails on resolutions it does not like. Since I'm not familiar with Windows, there might be way to write some application that fakes the display information for other applications and would in theory give you the same effect. Screenshot ompldr.org/vYW91NA/YsOrigins.pngDiscussion && Patch www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2011-September/092034.htmlAlso, this is my first post :) Long time Ys and Eiyuu Densetsu fan. Nice to meet you.
