That's the edition I ordered a few months ago jackmonty. You can't see it very well from the product page, but in the lower left corner it says in big text "Windows 7" then below that "Vista/XP". It installed fine on my Win 7/64 bit and Win XP/32 bit systems, so you'll be fine.

Thanks for the advice Wyrdwad and Alyindar!
I'll check out the Falcom special of the week topic like you recommended and hopefully order it at the start of next week!

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, but I suppose I'm a little bit stuck here. I just got the ability to go underwater, and one of the things I want to do is get a few things before I progress, mainly tablets/notes/guardian cards, but I'm a bit lost. Following the GameFAQs guide to get the Wanaprot (not sure if that's the name in the translation, but it's the sixth guardian) card, but following the specific directions in the walkthrough, the chest only contains money, but not the guardian. Is the guide wrong, or is it luck based for the guardian to appear from the chest? The same applies for the fifth note. The guide mentions it's in the forest maze, but following the specific directions only lead me to a chest with money, not the item I desire.

Maybe you should start a new thread for Xanadu Next game help.

I should imagine that you might have already obtained these items - the chests therefore give you gold instead. I might be wrong, but these are (or should be) static items that will only appear in those chests. I've played multiple times and that's always been the case, so just have a quick check to make sure you don't have them already... Otherwise I don't know what to suggest :s

The guide's 'Wanaprot" is "Vanaporte" in the translation, if that helps identify.

A quick and important update:
thank's to our friend Philip who discovered a nasty bug, I have to warn you that the World of the Dead maze (the bonus level included in the latest Falcom's patch) can't be completed, because the game crashes just before the final boss. Since you can't save in the middle of the maze (well, you could, but resuming won't work, and this is a Falcom's genuine bug!) you could tourn out quite upset realizing you'll have to play it again from the beginning! Fortunately, the bug was quickly discovered and fixed, so follow my advice:
wait for and apply the next v1.1 translation patch before entering the World of Dead maze.
the patch will be uploaded to the figlidigaucci site as soon as possible. bye, GHO

Before all else: THANK YOU, everyone involved and responsible for this patch. This game is great. It really is on another level when put side by side with the N-Gage version... XD (Both have their merits, though!) Anyway, great work everyone, and great game, too. I just reached Strangerock Castle myself, and so, I have a quick question to make. I noticed I was forced to use Liese's arrow (which was an useful accessory) to progress in the game with that bow. So the loss weights me down a bit. The question itself is: can you re-obtain the arrow or at least an item that does exactly the same thing or better? That's all... for now. Thanks again to everyone involved!

While equipped, it raises magic defense/resistance slightly. Normal armors/shields don't raise that (at least so far), therefore magical attacks from enemies always are hurtful (unless if you raise a lot of MND), so it helped a bit. Hm, who knows, perhaps there might be some bug that allows us to keep it. I'll keep a separated save file prior to shooting it just in case.

Sent you a PM doppiapunta, I just purchased a copy of Xanadu Next from Falcom, which turned out to be the 1.0.2.0 version.

Finally got to play the translation... Good job! The story's turning out better than expected.
Also gameplay question, how do you get the guardian Gray Ash? I just spent about 15 minutes trying to make the jump to that platform in Xanadu Labyrinth, to no avail. Any tips?

I was taking them off though, and still kept grazing the platform :/ Should I just keep trying till it hits, or is there a trick to it? I must've given that jump at least a good 50 tries, it's frustrating me to no end

Nay, I finally got it, but man was that a pain. You've got to aim the mouse *just right* or you hit the invisible wall off the side of the little platform and fall. And yup you were thinking of the right one, it's the only Guardian in Xanadu Labyrinth, just before the Crevice entrance EDIT: Bah, another question! What's the tablet #8 (between "Of History and Spirits" and "Sacred Maiden and the Sword) and where do I find it? Can't believe I missed it, I thought I cleared everything up to Strangerock...

I failed properly every time with a PS2 gamepad. XD I must've tried about 200 times (including the times I've tried to float to it from the right side, and forgetting to take those darn boots off) before getting it -- with and without analog enabled.
// One thing that I didn't realize before getting it, was the fact that you have to be *dead center* in the walkway before jumping. The torches will otherwise block your landing.

Yes, XN is pretty ingenious in that way. That reminds me of some of the jumping puzzles in Ocarina of Time.
