Ys II Complete was pretty easy compared to Ys I Complete? not that it was a bad thing, but i felt like the bosses were a big letdown compared to Ys I bosses. I Mean, those flying heads however they were called were really painfull and then its Duless, who its pretty easy, its just charge. and then its Dark fact that took me hours compared to Darm, who i beat in my second try: basically, to defeat Darm all that you have to do is: >Equip magic of Fact >Equip elixir. >Charge at Darm > ?? >Profit. Now, im not complaining, i loved Ys II, but i just felt that the bosses were a letdown.

You at least have a chance of dying in Nightmare. Well... mainly if you stand in his big laser at all, but it is still a chance!

Nah, you're not the only one who thought that. Darm is pretty much a joke compared to Dark Fact unless you actively try to make the fight harder on yourself. The same's true for most of the other bosses and regular enemies as well; Magic helped make II a lot easier because you didn't have to put yourself in harms way (as much at least) to attack.
If you want to see Ys II bosses improved dramatically, play Origin if you haven't already.

Yeah, at least in Ys I, you had to fully charge with the body at enemies, and if things went wrong, then you might take punishment, but with magic, especially fire magic, you could keep distance, time magic also made leveling up pretty easy as well. Im just gonna try Darm withouth Shield magic and elixir, it should be at least better.

Yeah I think Ys I bosses are some of the toughest in the series, mostly because the strategies for beating them requires a lot of precision. Like the floating heads.... you need to run between the circling fire/ice to avoid dying. Ys I has gotten to the point for me where I prefer to play it on Hard, just because Nightmare is toooooo frustrating. Mostly because of the level cap. Every other game is challenging but the most difficult mode is doable with a lot of patience.

But, to be honest, the bosses desings in Ys II is actually better designed and more balanced, Ys I Bosses could be considered hard since their desing was actually Cheap.
i mean, just compare Dark´s desing to Darm´s. Darm´s is more elaborated and balanced, Dark´s is practically a cheap desing and thats why its be really hated.
So its not that bad in the end.

The Ys Completes were easier anyway, for me...the II end boss was a lot nicer looking and I enjoyed killing him a lot more, especially as you got to 'test your popularity with the goddesses' at that point also^^

The only boss I had trouble with was Vagullion, but I played Chronicles.
I gave up. Downloaded a save game at the start of Darm Tower. Max EXP, rings, max equipment, and I still barely did any damage against Vags.
I hated Vagullion.
