It has entered Alpha test 2. Apparently everyone who applied this time got in, even foreigners. Unfortunately I couldn't remember my JP PSU login info, nor parse the Japanese recovery emails so I could sign up. Alpha test times are pretty limited though.. the servers are only up for a few hours at a time.

I didn't know you played the JP PSU, Schlag.

I don't think I've posted about it here since PSP2 Infinity came out, but I'm a huge Phantasy Star fan. I played JP PSU about when the supplemental update came out and US/EU PSU was stagnating to death.. though I think I only made it up to lv.80 something. Then Phantasy Star Portable 2 (and Infinity) came out to give me the action RPG dungeon crawling that I craved

Staying away from PSO2 info for the surprises then?

I tried to sign up but I kept getting an error message even when I used a Japanese proxy ;_; Hopefully I'll get it sorted by the time the real things comes out, I'm dying to play!

What was the error message?
I'll add another sentence to make this post seem like it's more than just one line.

Staying away from PSO2 info for the surprises then? Nope, I would've gladly signed up for the PSO2 alpha test if I could've remembered my log in info for JP PSU or understood how to recover my password/username. For the second alpha test all you had to do to enter was sign up from the website after logging in with an existing PSU account. It looks like every foreigner who had done so was accepted unlike the first test

I'm keeping my expectations low with this one. PSU was such a disappointment. Either way, though, I'd kill for a true PS sequel rather than PSO.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 (and the Japanese only Infinity) are great dungeon crawlers and much more action RPGs and any of the previous online PS titles. Having followed PSU since launch, I've gotten to see Sega get their shit together and really start trying as of those games so that's why I think PSO2 is gonna be interesting. On the other hand, the Western Sega studios think that Phantasy Star is dead, closed the PSU servers, cut a lot of stuff out of PSP2, didn't release PSP2 Infinity, and haven't said a word about a Western PSO2 release. Will we even see PSO2 before the end of 2012 if at all?
Oh and now I find my Jp PSU username and password...
I agree on the PS RPG sequel but PS4 ended the story and I stand by that.

What was the error message? It was something like "Please use a Japanese browser", even when I was using a Japanese proxy Jason - PSU has come a hell of a long way from the original release, and got bigger and better with every new game. I am worried about the overseas support though, they didn't do a great job with PSOBB or PSU :/

How's your TP usage as a Force? I heard some other people saying that they felt like they ran out too quickly and had to resort to melee with their Rod.
I'm looking at playing Ranger when I get the chance. The TPS mode looks fun and rather unique to combat in PS games

I'm looking at playing Ranger when I get the chance. The TPS mode looks fun and rather unique to combat in PS games PP consumption was fine with JA timing, easily 2-3 shot most things. There are skills that adjust PP usage and I bet higher level spells reduce PP cost.

Tancients, "insanse jealousy" just isn't a strong enough term to describe how I'm feeling about seeing those screenshots Edit: Got around the damned "Japanese browser" thing by using IE instead of Firefox, now I just have to hope there's another open test phase at some point ^^~ *crosses every finger and toe on everyone I meet*

PSO2 PC will be free to play with a cash shop. It is slated to release this summer. The first beta test is slated for end of April (the first 2 events were Alpha tests). I think I'm gonna sign up for this one.
