I present(& mind you, once again, this is an early demo!), Jungle Bros. I'm the music man on this, & also, the sound of the whip crack....is me making it with my mouth Oh, & incase you missed it, here's a couple of video's of Monolith, by our sister group Eponasoft. Both JB & Monolith use the same game engine, though, obviously Monolith is much further along in development. We want both Mono & JB out by the end of the year. Also, I did not do the music for this game, that would be Jamie Billings, she's done a few different video game soundtracks

Those are some pretty great demos. I always really enjoy seeing new dev projects coming out for older hardware. Seeing as how now I own a PC Engine Duo RX, I've been able to play most anything on real hardware now, so I'd be VERY interested in getting these as an official release one day perhaps. I'm assuming these would be for sale since they use all original material right?
Whatever happened to that Neutopia III fan project? Is that still around? I was always psyched to play that.
Man, I'd love to one day participate in an older game indie development project for either PC Engine or MSX one day. That would be fantastic!

Oh yeah, we're totally releasing these on pressed discs with manuals, tray insert's, etc. As it is, Mysterious Song will any day now go off to the presses so we can FINALLY release that damn game, & never look back!
I'm starting to think, that the biggest thing that's kept Mysterious Song from being released MUCH sooner, is that we added spanish & french translations, & beta testing those has been a problem. Monolith will be English & Japanese, but the Japanese translation is being developed along with the english, so there theoretically shouldn't be any problems there compared to Mysterious Song.
Actually, thanks to Mysterious Song, we have no real desire to do a turn based rpg ever again. As for Neutopia 3, it's still on the plate, but we've pushed it back, as it's going to be a HUGE game, & we want to make sure our skills are up to it. I worked on somewhere around 10 songs for it, though, that was several years ago, & I've learned alot more about music since then, so, I'm glad we put it on hold!
For Frozen Utopia, I think our announced release list is Mysterious Song, Jungle Bros., Valkyrie Midnight(which has been in the works for quite some time), & Dragon Arm(which is in the planning stages). I'm inclined to say after Dragon Arm is when we'll go back to Neutopia 3.
Though, there are a few other games in the works that aren't announced that could maybe end up coming before it, we'll just have to wait n' see. Black Tiger & I have our own project we're gradually planning, & of which I have roughly 10 songs, without about 15 more to go. There's also 2 shmups (Xymati, originally from Mindrec, & a game called Metro Blaster) coming from Eponasoft(Nodtveidt is the programmer for Epona & Frozen Utopia), as well as another project or 3 I can't discuss.
Here's a super early proto on Metro Blaster:

Been a long time, PD! Good to see everything is still in progress! My only question is, who exactly is pressing the discs, and doing all of that other fun stuff?
// Also, for the first time in AGES, I've bookmarked a thread here. Looking forward to it all!

Glad yer lookin' forward to it all I believe they're being produced by www.nationwidedisc.com/ but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure that's who Arkhan of Aetherbyte used for Insanity(& will also be using for PC Engine Retrocade). They seem to be a reliable company. If you're wondering who's doing the manual art n' stuff, that would be Black Tiger, who also did the animated cinemas for Mysterious Song. The manual is almost finished. I'm not sure if he'll be doing them for Jungle Bros., so far he's only done the Mysterious Song manual etc. Here's some placeholder art for the front & back, I don't think we're going with the Duo bars on the side, though I don't recall for sure: Oh, & here's some sprites for Jungle Bros. that Keranu posted over at the PCEnginefx boards, so I'm sure I'm allowed to release them here as well. And here's some video's for Aetherbyte's PC Engine Retrocade

Well, looks like we're sending off the master copies of Mysterious Song to be mass produced! They're being shipped to Texas from Puerto Rico, not sure how long that will take, & then I'm guessing a couple weeks for them to be mass produced & shipped to Keranu's house in Illinois, & he will be sending out all the copies that were pre-ordered(after he sends copies to all involved in the project). Here's the pics of the master gold, the open one apparently is the one Nod is keeping, the rest are being sent

Here is the last video we will be showing before MGC this weekend, enjoy! Both this & Mysterious Song will be on display there. As for Mysterious Song, it sounds like it'll arrive from the pressing factory on the 26th, so, unfortunately we won't have the full game with manual, etc. for sale there.
Oh, & keep in mind, the title screen music is NOT the final track. I just have been working on level music lately, & didn't have enough time to whip up an early version of the official title screen tune.
