Ok, I also just got the chance to listen to the new soundtrack from Ys Chronicles and I love it (like so many others here) and I had a thought....how hard would it be to take the Chronicles soundtrack and make it work in the PC Complete versions? We all know N&D did the alternative soundtrack already so its possible but how difficult would it be? I myself would actually do it...if I knew exactly how (I know you cant just throw them in there as .wavs and..voila!..instant soundtrack!).
Does anyone else think this would be a good thing to try?

Actually I was discussing this with a friend the other day as it's the only real major difference other than the art, which most people are pretty apathetic about anyway.
I don't think it would be that hard to do, either. I think he actually mentioned managing to do it with some saturn versions of tracks but not looping them right, but the loops can be configured. I'll poke him when he gets on, anyway. I think it'd be a really good thing to try for people who don't have PSPs.

Yeah, converting the tracks to .wavs are no problem but, as you stated, its getting them to loop properly that I get stuck at. I know it involves the .pos files in the file folder but I don't know how to create/edit them and therein lies the problem...

If anyone figures this out, I agree that it'd be great.

I've seen that Nightwolve had created a .pos file editor making all of this not only possible but way more easy. Unfortunately, he has never publicly released it. I wanted to see if i could at least ask him nicely and see if he'd be up to the idea, but I can't even register at his forums right now...

We'll have to ask the few members here who still get along with him.

I think I'd wait for someone with some sway to try first.
I stick by my nomination of SkyWelse.

Well it's not like he's completely opposed to doing anything for the community either. His site has that pretty awesome Falcom special offer auto generator that could save first timers a lot of time and trouble.
I dunno, I suppose it depends how much effort it would be on his part.

Or maybe we could ask doppi if he knows how to do it and if it's easy.

I've experience with track looping and taking them apart, but I don't know if I'd be the best considering how busy I've been. I have done a couple tracks in Complete for funsies though, like replacing the current Overdrive with a fan remix that kicks heavy ass.

Having just heard the Chronicles OST, I have to admit, .pos files to support it in Eternal would be a godsend. Really, there's just no comparison here. Chronicles > Eternal hands down.

Well, if I make the appropriate wav files, would anyone be willing to do the .pos work? I've no bloody idea what those files do, much less how to edit them.

Do you know how to edit those files?
Tried opening them with notepad, didn't work.

Oh ok, that would explain how they determine loops within seemingly unloopable wav files.
I will do some research on this guys.

Ah so far it seems I'm at a loss unless I get ahold of the pos editor nightwolve made. :/
Maybe he'd be willing to share it if I offer to do the work of editing and cropping the tracks and files?
