Not too many screenshots out yet, but Esterior shows a few. Also, there are about 5 6 different version of the LE set, so be careful which ones you are getting from places like Yesasia and Playasia as they differ a bit from the Amazon.cn version. This blog mentions a little about the different versions. if I get one, I'm going to go with the Amazon.cn version since it seems the most complete. Edit: TaoBao has a sixth version I've not seen yet with a Tia Figurine and a different cover. I'm still very interested in getting this all in English though! I'm hope this project gets some fire behind it. : ) -Thomas

Plus, it weighs about 1200g. Shipped via EMS to the USA, "the first 500g is 280cny and addtional 500g is 75cny." 1 CNY = 0.15 USD, according to taobaobuying. If you're ordering the Amazon version via proxy, be aware that you aren't just paying 299 CNY for the LE, but 60 CNY also so that it can be shipped to your proxy. (I guess China doesn't have Amazon's free shipping?) So far, not counting the additional 10% to the proxy, this looks to be $118.35 But taobaobuying's shipping is half-off -- $32.25. That makes the total $86.10 so far. Insurance is $3.57, so $89.67. 359 CNY (item and domestic shipping together) *0.1 (10%) = 35.9 CNY, *0.15 = $5.39... wait a minute. The invoice says "50 CNY", and it says that the exchange rate is actually one cent more per CNY. Meh, whatever. I keep botching the calculations from here on out, so I'll just cut to the brass tacks: YesAsia is definitely cheaper. Whether or not one uses a proxy for the LE on Amazon.cn is really up to personal preference, as there isn't anything missing from the YesAsia package, right?

Actually, the Yesasia version is different than the one two being sold on Amazon and TaoBao. The blog I linked to above mentions all of this in more detail. I believe it is also different from the First Press Release Edition also being sold at Amazon.cn and TaoBao. The version being sold at Yesasia contains the following extra materials: Special Code Limited Edition includes] * Game DVD-ROM * The game manual * Complete Strategy Guide * The visual configuration data set * Ys rumor electronic fiction * Exquisite three-dimensional offset posters * Subject poster (Translated by Google) I'm planning on ordering one Special Limited Edition version from Amazon and possibly a First Press Release Edition, also from Amazon. Currently, I researching through two proxy services to find which one will be the better deal. I'm also want to go the "Cheapest Possible Shipping" route, since in most cases, I've found that even with EMS being offered at a 50% discount by these two providers, it's about the same if not more than the actual purchase of the LE version of the game for 299 Yuan. I'm looking into SAL/Sea shipping with tracking included. Sure it'll take about 2-3 months to arrive, but if it ends up making a $70 shipping total become $25-30, it's worth it to me. I'll report my findings here when everything is said and done. -Thomas

Alright, I'm back with better taobaobuying.com calculations: $ 8.00 Proxy (What it is; 50 CPY) $57.44 Ys Seven PC Amazon LE + Domestic Shipping $34.40 Shipping (My personal stab at an estimate) $ 3.57 Insurance (What they tell me it is; I haven't calculated this one myself)
$103.41 Total (My personal stab at an estimate) For the additional figures, a controller, and the unique box art, I suppose the extra $13.42 (compared to YesAsia's $89.99 price) isn't half bad. Note that these totals do not include tax, nor do I know if YesAsia or Amazon.cn will tax you. After making a rough estimate of my budget, this should be doable for me without any major setbacks. I still haven't accepted, and I will take my time to contemplate the situation. It's just a really pretty LE, and given what comes with it, it makes the want that much worse. XD *procrastinates* // The proxy charge starts at 50 CPY, which I had overlooked on their website. Oops!

Unsavory. I've been having an ongoing email conversation the past couple of days with a representative from Taotaobuying.com, who has her email listed on the site, April Kong.
This is the price she quoted me to have the 299 Yuan Amazon.cn LE ordered and sent to America with EMS shipping that has a 50% discount. I found it to be a little high, which is why I've been looking into other shipping services that they might be able to use to make it cheaper. Seems that they want to work with me as best the can on it, even recommended a cheaper Airmail service, which would take about a month. Not sure how much cheaper it would be.
Anyway, this is what she sent me:

YesAsia says that the product weighs about 1200g, which is 1.2kg. I can't imagine that the controller and the additional figures weigh an additional 2.8kg. 75*2+280=430*.5=215*.16=$34.40 (which accounts for 1.5kg or 1500 g, total CNY, applies the 50% discount, total CNY, converts the CNY to USD, and total USD). Did the exchange rate go up from 16 cents? Because I get $64.40 when using their calculation -- not $70.33.
// if I had to wager a guess on the weight of the additional content, probably about 500g on the controller, and 90g on the petite figure -- about 1.79kg total. I can't imagine the glass paperweight weighs 2.21kg.
// Amazon.cn says the total weight is 3.2kg. Either way, that's no 4. EMS probably has their own math going on (like USPS and what they think is the 'nearest pound'), as well, so I can't really say for sure.
// April Kong is the same rep I've been looking into. I didn't get a weight estimate, but seeing $141.79 (with your shipping estimate) makes me glad I didn't jump on the deal using my estimates, lol! It'd be doable in the way that I could pay rent, but couldn't afford so much as a candy bar for the rest of the month, lol. XD I'll have to decline.
// If it were still 16 cents per CNY, and the shipping accounted for 3.5kg, we'd be looking at 365 CNY or $58.40 -- I could be missing something like their 5% insurance ($5.79 after total for domestic and international shipping, and the LE) or their 4% paypal (which is only $1 using mass pay).

I'll keep you updated. I still really, really want either April's service or this other one called Zarmark to pan out with offering SEA or SAL shipping. Using the following site as an example to see how much it would approximately cost (which is what April recommended I use) for SEA and SAL, I'm looking at around $24-27 for SEA (3 Months Delivery Time though) and SAL for around $50+. I would love to have $27 shipping. I really don't care when I get it, I just want to get it sometime while supplies last, you know? : ) -Thomas

Hmmm... it would be doable with Sea shipping. I definitely agree with you. I wouldn't care when I got it, just as long as I got it in an extremely fiscally responsible way. If that means it takes a canoe and walks the rest of the way, that's fine by me, lol! I don't want to end up with another KH3D:DDD LE where the rate goes up exponentially due to snipers. Totally my fault for procrastinating, but damn these marketplace games, lol!
I'll procrastinate some more, and let April know if I change my mind. I'm sure it's annoying as hell to have an indecisive customer, but I won't put a cent down until I'm 100% sure.

Alright Unsavory, I completed my order tonight. April Kong didn't contact me back about my question to her being able to offer Sea and how much that would be. It seemed like she would be able to offer it, but she never let me know how much and I got a bit tired of waiting. So, I ended up going with the proxy service called Zarmark.com and spoke with a representative there named Jellin, who was very helpful.
Here's the comparison totals: (Keep in mind, I ordered not only the LE set from Amazon, but also the First Press set from Amazon. So we're looking at 299 Yuan + 99 Yuan.
Zarmark: Both Sets before shipping costs: 76.32 USD. Just the one Amazon Limited Edition, 56.16 USD
Estimated shipping for TWO items:
Estimated Shipping via SAL: 59.30 USD Total Estimate with International Shipping for both items with tracking using SAL: Estimated 4.2kg = 135.62 USD
TaoTaoBuying: Both Sets before shipping costs: 92.25 USD. Just the one Amazon Limited Edition, 71.46 USD.
The following was estimated shipping with tracking included for the following services for just ONE item, just the Ys Seven Limited Edition, not the two that I am ordering from Zarmark above.
Estimated Shipping for 4kg via EMS = 70.33USD. Estimated Shipping for 4kg via SAL = ?. Offered? They said yes, though, no quote. Estimated Shipping for 4kg via SEA = ?. Offered? They said yes, though no quote.
Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for the info! It looks like my budget estimate was a little off (I'll be skipping out on morning/afternoon lunch and drinks for a while to be safe), so unless I can pull it off next month or so, I'll have to pass it up. Life comes first, and by all means I'm glad that I procrastinate for this reason.

I just got my shipping quote back today from the service I used at Zarmark.com. Again, I ordered both two games, one the LE which was heavier, around 3.2 kg I believe and one other. They just told me that it would be a little cheaper than I originally anticipated for SAL shipping: weight .8kg shipping fee:49.76 shipping method: SAL Shipping address: Georgia, United States My total was: 126.08 for both items, shipped + tracking. -Thomas

That's actually not to bad, especially for two versions of the game. Maybe I should....

I will postpone pursuit of this LE (as I have with OiF PSP, LoH:TitS, and Ys I & II Chronicles) to be safe. ^_^ I've concluded that I don't really need it. Luckily I'll be set for a while on food, other personal expenses still come first, as does rent -- and I will *not* get caught in another retarded "OMG! I'm saving SO much money every month! I can buy ANYTHING!" snag, lol! I'll be more cautious of my budget in the future.

I got my copy too, if I got time I'll take some pictures of it. But this LE definiety beats the LOH Zero chinese in materials, heck even the box felt quite heavy.

Mine arrived today along with the First Press Release version. Here are some pictures: It came with a lot of stuff and it was as big as a cat! 0_o And one Ys Seven Pendant, Not pictured, because I didn't see it in the box until after I took the photos and cleaned everything up. : 0 The Reah Figure and Adol Figures are very nice and of a high quality and the controller isn't too bad either. Nice that I was able to get a red one to match Adol's hair. : ) The First Press Release comes with some post cards with Ys Seven Art, a cool Dragon Knight keychain, a poster and tube, a metal tin case for the game disc and a Ys Seven iPhone 4 case. So far, I've been able to follow some advice in the Ys Seven PC Chinese to English thread and I've been able to the script for all characters completely into English. We'll probably work at it some more to see what else we can get changed as well. -Thomas
