forgive me if this was answered, but i ran a forum search and couldn't find any information
is it possible to change the screen resolution of Ys I & II Eternal Complete to run in 1680x1050, like an ini edit?

Not normally, no, but downloading a program called DxWnd can at least let you put the game in windowed mode. You can at least resize it that way (good ol' click and drag), but I don't know if there's an easy way to get it in a specific resolution.

how do i use it with the batch file that kills explorer.exe? i tried altering the batch file, but i just ended up making a recursive loop that annihilates explorer
edit: alternatively, a way to make the game work without killing explorer (trying to run it with explorer active gives me major slowdown and screwy colour)

No clue about the batch file, but here are the DxWnd settings I was recommended: If you're experiencing slowdown, it may be due to your CPU, or so I'm led to believe (even though said slowdown isn't present when playing normally, at least not for me). Not sure what to tell you beyond that (I know little about technology, so...).

ok, i found a workaround, i got an old POS laptop running WinXP, so it doesn't trip up over DirectX 9 applications
it's not in 1680x1050, but it's also not screwing up my monitors, i don't have to kill explorer.exe, and it runs peachy keen
also it was def. not my CPU because i've got a higher-end rig capable of running Mass Effect 3, it was probably just Aero not playing nice with the DirectX 9
thanks for your time
