My friend made a cool mod of Gate of Thunder with ThunderForce III sprites and various ThunderForce music. Anyway, I plowed through Ys III on ye olde Duo last night because I got a bit frustrated playing Ys IV. I'm at the part where you have Dogi tagging along, I'm trying to max out my stats, but Dogi keeps on stealing my kills!

I just beat it, with save states, that game is hard, but, I also just beat Legendary Axe finally after all these years! THAT game get's ridiculous! No kidding. I could never get far when I was a kid. I just beat it fairly recently, too. So many games I could never finish as a kid, 'cuz I just sucked (not that I'm great now, though). I think Gate of Thunder is my next target. Yeah, I gotta beat Legendary Axe 2(I've gotten to the last level, never could beat it). But you reminded me, I gotta beat Gate of Thunder as well! I could get to the last level, but, couldn't get very far! Though, I think my next target, will be Valis 3. I never could get past the spots where you have to freeze enemies, & jump on them! I hear that's the hardest part of the game! And, speaking of Ys 3, I still haven't finished my remix version of it for ya'll! I just need to sit down, write down what the narrator says at the opening. Change some lines, & record my Alan Openheimer impression, so everyone can play Wanderer's in Felghana But I also gotta get my butt back produing music for our games....but, I want to beat games........ it's a vicious cycle I tell ya!

The hardest part of Valis III is the end boss. I still need to play Valis IV. Such a great series and is ashame that the only means of a series resurrection is some recent Valis hentai. Although that shouldnt be unexpected considering the game is full of hot anime babes.

I just beat Valis 3 & Final Zone 2 last night In some way, Final Zone 2, isn't as hard as I thought, but, I tend to be more impatient with that game, so, the save states helped. I also started on Sidearms BC(on the Sidearms Special disc), but, THAT game is hard, even WITH save states! And I started working on Mystic Formula. That game is pretty tough, even on normal!

I finished Gears of War on Xbox 360 yesterday. The game was really short, but frickin sweet! It has been a long time since I sat down and played a game through all the way from start to finish (last time I did that was with Demon's Crest last year). The graphics, atmosphere, sound, game play, completely awesome. The game deserves all the praise it is getting. Yeah, the plot and characters were fairly cliche, but the game doesn't spend much time on it, so it doesn't get in the way, and provides setups for many fun situations.

Mystic Formula! God, I haven't played that in more than ten years! I wish I still had it. Valis III was easier on the Genesis. I've beat both the Genny and Duo versions more than once.

Mystic Formula is semi easy to find on ebay, seems to pop up every so often, & PCE games aren't as expensive as they used to be. I just beat the PCE version of Ninja Gaiden, using both save states AND slow-mo I started working on Rayxanber 2, I stopped at the 5th level for now, might finish it tommorrow.

Just beat Rayxanber 2, & then Gate of Thunder. Rayxanber 2, though hard, is pretty nice looking for a 2.0 cd.
Edit-Just beat the Turbo version of Forgotten Worlds. That last boss is a beeyatch! I must say, they did a good job on the tiles & sprites, but, the lack of paralax, & the fact that they didn't do new cinemas sucks. The music is great.

Just beat the NES game "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" -- this time with the hidden Mr. Hyde ending, which was only slighty better. Angry Nintendo Nerd?

Theres even a weird 2 player mode where one controller fires and the other controller spins the guy around. Pretty lame 2 player mode but what can you do. They did get the music right though which is awesome. Still the lack of true 2 player mode and parallax scrolling make the Genesis version better.

I do wonder, if somebody else handled the port, if it would've faired better, like, have paralax & 2 player support. NEC Avenue, isn't always known for their ports. I think they're better at they're own personal games. edit-Well, I just went & played the Genny version, & I gotta say, I think it's quite terrible! For me, 2 players, & paralax don't make up for how unaccurate that game is, in comparison to the Turbo version. That's not to say, that the Genesis version could've been better, I'm sure it could've. But the Turbo version graphically, is waaaay closer to the arcade version. Now, Heavy Unit is one game where I actually prefer the Genesis version, it's just a much better game. I hate the Turbo version of that game, just to show that I'm not totally biased to the Turbo

Just beat Psychosis. Though, there wasn't much of an ending. It returned me to the begining of lvl 1, but on a harder mode. Guess I'll have to beat that too.

Yeah, the programmer for the music, really did a great job. I think I heard he also did the music for Dungeon Explorer & Monster Pro Wrestling, & when I listen to them, it really does sound like the same guy! I wonder what would've happened if Yuzo programmed music for the Turbo, what kind of sounds he could've pulled off!

Its funny how the US market made that game into Legendary Axe 2. I mean in japan that wasnt really a direct sequel to the first game. Since your on a role with th e Turbo games ParanoiaDragon, I recommend playing Download 2 for the CDROM. The end boss is a real suprise that worth playing to see it. Another thing about this game is that it has VERY good cinemas for a CDROM game. I swear I thought the game was a SUPERCDROM when I first played it. It also has a nice Black Sabbathish soundtrack to it.

Beat it a few years ago But I haven't beaten the first one yet! And yeah, the first game, was Makyou Densetsul aka Legend of Monster World or something like that, while the other is Ankoku Densetsu aka Dark Legend. But, they we're made by the same company, so, that's gotta acount for something! I remember when they first were gonna call Super Star Soldier, Blazing Lazers 2

Just beat Sam and Max: Culture Shock. It's very short, but it's an episode, and only costs $9. Still, it did feel like less than a quarter or fifth of a game. So they could have lowered the price or put more in there.
Aside from being short though, I absolutely loved it! I'm a sucker for adventure games, especially funny ones. I guess what I really want in a game is story. (Gameplay can overcome a lack of story for me, but only if it's really awesome.)
I own the LucasArts Sam and Max Hit the Road game, and adore it. The new one is likewise great. I was concerned about it being 3D. (Monkey Island 4's graphics just didn't work for me.) But it really works! I was also worried about the voices. They are different enough from the first game that I noticed right away, but close enough that I completely forgot after a few minutes. And of course, it's got your favorite anthropomorphic freelance police dog and rabbit, Sam and Max! So the humor is, of course, top-notch. (I think I love it because they use big words. It's hilarious because most people don't get it. From the first game: "Stay away from him, you malefactor!" "I'm not a malefactor, I'm a lagamorph!") Just plain awesome.

Just beat Hawk F-123. It's an obscure PCE CD shooter, that's rather crappy. Well, maybe it's more generic, it's just that, there wasn't alot of effort put into it
