I haven't been keeping up with the Falcom fanbase for a while, so apologies if this is old or I've made a mistake. Apparently the Chinese company who ported Zero/Ao no Kiseki and Ys SEVEN to the PC are releasing Ys SEVEN PC in English. ( Blog post) At first I thought they were posting about the fan translation or something, but then I noticed they're talking about releasing it in Europe and America.

Cool! Now we don't have to spend anymore time hacking away at the Chinese PC version. : )

Yes yes yes yes yes yes. Better be true.
Or what I should say is I hope it comes to Steam or GOG.com.

I may be totally ignorant, but would this be something boxed or just a digital release? Might be too early to tell I guess, but I'd love it if they produced a special package for it.

... Amazing. But I will only believe it once I see it. For all we know it could be a screenshot of the Chinese PC version with the PSP English script dumped into it like how most of us did it, and then a blog comes up with a story about it being released to English-speaking audiences, right? Of course, I hope this isn't someone just toying around with us non-Eastern-Asian Ys fans! I hope it happens! And if so, I believe the Chinese company is likely collaborating and dealing with XSEED for the English script, at least. Anyway, hope it's true.

Actually I have zero faith that this is going to make it stateside at all. If it does It will probably be an obscure release with little fanfare and quickly forgotten. Coupled with the probability that it will use securom like the chinese release even if it does come out I don't see it making a big splash or the company any money. Which is a shame. Even if not by xseed it would be great if there was a company willing to port falcom's psp, and dare I hope vita, games to pc and release them in the west.

I personally think this news is simply fake due to either [1] it being meant as a prank by perhaps a chinese person through patched Ys Seven PC screenshots or [2] somehow Aveyn Knight simply misunderstood whatever the page says by accident.

I agree Red. There was never any official news about it on joyoland's website. The original blog entry that started this no longer exists and the only other news about it was all the sites quoting the original blog. Honestly the best way to play Ys 7 on PC is with the emulator PPSSPP. The textures are a little better on the PC version but PPSSPP with 4xIR(internal resolution) still looks quite good. PPSSPP PC
