This is the rulingest news I've ever heard! SC is rulemazing and it's music is my current choice for best OST of all time, a position previously held by Xenosaga Episode I.

Hopefully soon, though I can wait a while longer until they're sure there aren't any nasty viruses waiting to cause further trouble and they've done whatever they can to patch up the holes.
And speaking of hope, I hope they can recover all the existing posts (or have a fairly recent backup) because it would really be a shame to lose all of that discussion and fun on the boards thanks to some random jackass.

I am curious about one thing with this release. The PSP version have some very minor changes, mostly adding a new ultimate equipment for everyone and some additional items that can't be found in the original PC version. Seeing that Steam will most likely get a copy and paste from the PC version, I wonder if XSEED will modify the PC English release to match with PSP version and latter.

I was actually wondering about this for a while, but was not sure if this was a too silly question to ask. :'D So there are some differences between the PC and PSP versions? Are there anymore between the two aside the ultimate equipment and additional items? (Such as some mini extra scenes....?) I was also kind of wondering, is there some previous game save file carry overs from each of the Sora no Kisekis to the other, Suikoden-style, or.... each game starts as a blank new slate?

The PSP version added some voice acting for the S-Crafts, but I don't think there's more if I'm not mistaken. And also, if I'm not mistaken once again, the PC version was updated once the PSP version was released. So, graphic enhancement on the PC release aside, both versions are the very same.
And there is a cary-over save feature indeed, so you start SC with the level you had at the end of FC and other things I forgot.

Ok.. so this is still good news then. There is a good chance we wont get console releases... but that doesnt mean they wont actually release them on the PC right???
PS - so how many total Sora no Kiseki games are there now? Including those horrendous PSP legend of no heroes games? And the order of the games? Do they all follow each other, or is there like a set of trilogies each having there own stories set in the same place?

If by horrendous pep games you mean the gagharv trilogy, those aren't sora no kiseki games. I believe there are only 4 sora no kiseki games.

Sen no Kiseki on PS3/PSVITA. Play the Gagharv Trilogy on PC.

Six games. Sora FC/SC/The 3rd, Zero/Ao and Sen. FC and SC form the Liberl Ark, Zero and Ao are the Crossbell Arc, Sen begins the Erebonia arc and The 3rd is a bridge between Liberl and Crossbell, with ridiculous amounts of world/character building and foreshadowing for many future games. The PSP version added some voice acting for the S-Crafts, but I don't think there's more if I'm not mistaken. The PSP version of SC added battle voices to a few characters who didn't already have them but the PC release already had voice work for all playable characters and certain bosses. Sadly, nope. Falcom's updates to the PC versions are nothing more than compatability fixes to ensure they run on newer versions of Windows. All the changes to the PSP versions stay on the PSP versions (and the PS3 ones). The PC versions look better but still don't have things like the extra playable characters and additional ultimate weapons in SC, the Magic/Divine Mirror quartz in The 3rd, the monster encyclopedia and difficulty modes. I think Tom and Sara suggested that some of the extra content could find its way into the Steam releases but no promises. Specifically, Estelle's level carries over if and only if your clear save was within a certain range. Estelle will start SC at a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 40. If your clear data isn't within that range, it won't be counted. Other than that, the only thing that carries over is your Junior Bracer Notebook. This triggers event flags that will change the dialogue of NPCs you helped in FC and sometimes get you free items. You'll also get free items near the start based on your Rank. For every one of 3 and above, you'll get one item and if you got all possible BP you'll get one more item. None of it is game-breaking stuff but the Quartz you get for max BP is nice to have earlier than you can otherwise obtain it.

Why... why waste time re-releasing the game on the PS3.. specially since the PS4 is just around the corner. WHy dont they focus on starting the 3rd and the other Kiseki games.... -_-

Why... why waste time re-releasing the game on the PS3.. specially since the PS4 is just around the corner. WHy don't they focus on starting the 3rd and the other Kiseki games.... -_- Why not? We don't even know if 3rd can be financially viable for them yet. They've said that 3rd will be determined entirely by SC's sales. If there's not much financial works for the PS3 versions of FC and SC, then that gives more sales opportunity and allows XSEED to reach out to more customers and garner more sales with it. It also presents an opportunity for the game to have a physical release, which would please a number of the other fans. How many people are immediately jumping to PS4, as well? Then also take into account that the PS4 doesn't have backwards compatibility, since it's on an entirely new chipset... With the exception of 3rd, each of the next Kiseki titles will only get bigger and bigger in script size than SC. (SC had 3.6m characters, and Zero and Ao both break 4m each. This isn't even touching on Sen no Kiseki's script which is very likely to be bigger than FC and SC combined.) In the end, I'd suspect that the Kai HD releases of FC and SC together is likely cheaper than it is to translate/edit 3rd. I ask why because I think it will do no good for the sales of the game... if anything they should focus on the DS and Vita (maybe even PSP) as opposed to the bigger consoles. I just think it will do well on consoles, specially SC which is rather dated now for them systems.

I didnt say the PS3 was dated.. I said SC was dated. I actually know a few that already have PS4 on preorder, and several others that plan to wait a bit so the game library gets bigger before purchasing. I just think Falcom should find the right target/audience and then focus on getting it out to that audience, instead of releasing, at least I think so, on a platform that will see it go largely unnoticed... specially this late in life of the PS3.

Xseed representative replied: “Shooting for early 2014 for FC [first chapter], and probably more middle of the year for SC.”

I hope FC doesn't end up being released in February. That month is already painfully crowded by games I want to buy and play.

Tom, I have a question. I heard about the delay on SC for PSP. Didn't hear any mention of the PS3 version. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall there being the "possibility" of that coming as well. Can you update us on that, or is that still up in the air at the moment?
