Hello,
I am thinking of importing Ys VI for the PC and then applying the English translation patch. The only retail versions available seem to be the "Windows 7" version or the recently released "Windows 8" version.
Since the translation patch only mentions the "Vista" version as 1.3.0.5, does anybody know if the newer releases have the same version number and if they are compatible with the patch?

I recently purchased the Windows 8 version, which is apparently version 1.3.1.0. The English translation patch didn't seem to work until I downgraded by applying the 1.3.0.5 patch, but it does seem to work, at least.

Thanks for the reply.
It's encouraging that the newer versions can be downgraded to enable the use of the patch. Is it still necessary to use Japanese regional settings or AppLocale to run the game once the patch is applied?

Not sure, since I already run in Japanese mode. I seem to remember needing Japanese mode when Origin's patch came out, though, and this is from the same group, so...

Ys 6 doesn't have any problem with an english locale. Ys 3 have a small problem with a platform in the fire stage but it can be ignored.
