Retreiving the Ability to Survive Lava

I've tried several attempts to pass this cavern in the Pit of Lava in the Ilvern Cavern and have been painfully and annoyingly falling into the pits below instead of getting to the charm and I'm to my wit's end.  I don't ever remember finding this trinket so hard to get in the SNES or Genesis versions of this game so why in the world did Oath make this task so ornery in the PC version?


Is there a much easier way to get to the item than what I am attempting? I've seen almost all of the videos online and they make it look so easy... what on Earth am I doing wrong?

I know it's been months -- did you happen to get past this part?

I can't say I know how to help. We know that you're falling into the pit, but we don't know the cause. Are enemies knocking you down, or are the jumps getting you? If attacking enemies up close proves to be difficult, have you tried firing from afar?
