THE RANTING BEGINS!!!!! Zelda Twilight Princess. A Fun Game™ I rarely replay games, especially new games, and especially only within a year - but this game needs to be replayed. Because it rules. So much! I think, I THINK it might even be better than Ocarina of Time. I'm not sure. Yet. I will have to finish this, and then OOT to clarify. OOT needs replayin' anyway, because that's such an awesome game, and it's been over a year since I played it already. I also tried playing some Super Mario 64 DS today. That's always been a "love"/hate game for me. It can be fun at times, but it is SO FRUSTRATING!! Every time I try it I always end up getting pissed and stop playing it for months/years. Super Mario Sunshine was even more frustrating, I really hate that game. I traded it for some shit game on PS2, don't even remember what it was. Oh yeah. Suikoden 4. My first (and last) Suikoden game. It sucked so much. But at least the manual had a nice Ys 6 poster thingy. I took it out, then I traded that game for Magic Knight Rayearth 1-2 for Game Gear. Haven't tried them yet, even though I have had them for about two years now. End of rant. BEGINNING OF RANT #2!!!!!!!!!No, I was kidding. I need to make the end of rant here. Bye!

I LOVE Suikoden 4, & graphically, I like the direction it was going, with the controllable camera, as opposed to 3, which, while I didn't hate, I thought it was boring, & it just seemed to drag on, & I didn't really care about most of the characters in it. Don't get me wrong, 4 has it's flaws, & it's not my favorite, but, I loved it.
With that said, giving up after playing 4, is no reason to give up on the series, that's for damn sure. It seems like people that love 3, hate 4. So, maybe Sel, you'd like 3. Personally though, 1, 2, & 5 rule. You should give those games a chance. 4, ultimately, is not the best example of a Suikoden game. Atleast, not for most people, I don't totally understand why, but, whatever. Try some other Suikodens.
Oh, you probably won't like Tactics either, as it's a continuation of 4. However, it's like FFT, so, if you like those kinda games, then, try it out, you can probably find it cheap. However, something I just thought about, since you're in Europe, you won't be able to get Suikoden 3 unless it's the US or Japanese version. I'm pretty sure 3 never made it to Europe.

Vib Ribbon should totally get ported to the PSP sometime... it would be such a great game to have in portable form!] Hey, with custom firmware you can play ANY PS1 game on your PSP. As for Suikoden, the fifth game seems pretty interesting, I think I will give that one a try sometime. How's the battle system?

The 5th one has autobattle?? Why doesn't that ring a bell? Do you mean autobattle like all the Suikoden games, where you just scroll down to auto, or, is it more like the Wild Arms auto battles? I beat the game, & I can't remember an autobattle.

Ah, ok.
As for Wild Arms, I've only played thru the 1st one, played thru half of the 2nd one, & am currently playing thru the remake of the first one, but, I think they might all have an auto battle feature, where you can set your characters up, & everytime a battle comes up, you just press X to go into battle, or you can choose your formation, etc.

Just started on Alundra I. I haven't got far into it yet but from what I heard, it is a really good action-rpg game. Can anyone give me good comparison of this game to other action-rpg games (like Ys)? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Still playing Twilight Princess. The in game clock says 17 hours. I would've given up on any game after this much playtime - or (usually) less! But this game keeps me thorougly interested still - and I have already played through it once before! This truly is a masterpiece. Earlier today I tried to play Halo on an old computer with a Geforce 2 MX400 card. Ha ha, it was a weaker card than I thought it would be. I overclocked it to the max as well (it still got SOME artifacts, so I guess I over-overclocked it just a little), but it was still really poor. I also tried some Final Fantasy V SNES a moment ago. It was boring. Which was a big let down, since I actually do like that game, and I REALLY want to play an RPG right now. More specifically: The Legend of Heroes III (PC-9800). That's not going to happen though, as it is in Japanese. Sigh, I will go play some random Famicom Disk System game instead.

Can anyone give me good comparison of this game to other action-rpg games (like Ys)? Any feedback would be appreciated. The gameplay of Alundra as you've seen is classic action-RPG, very much like Ys V, and the other current Ys games, and Zelda: A Link to the Past. It also reminds me a lot of playing Soulblazer or Illusion of Gaia. What sets it apart from Ys, but makes it more like a Zelda game are the insane puzzles you'll have to solve. Man, I loved solving all those puzzles, I don't know if I could do it again. If I remember, I think Alundra took a really long time to finish due to all the puzzles. The Alundra soundtrack rules too! When I read your post it made me want to finish Alundra 2.

Super Mario Galaxy - Wonderful platformer. A ton of fun, one of my favorites of the year. Ys I Complete - Getting Origin for Christmas, so in anticipation I'm replaying every Ys game during my Christmas break.

Alundra 2, one should warn, is a pretty subpar sequel.
But GMF is on the money with his review of Alundra. It's also pretty plotty, and fairly depressing in that. And if you read between the lines, the endboss is pretty damn cool.

Finally got to the middle of Alundra 1 and found the fiend blade (had to use the guide for that portion). Yep, this game feels like hardcore Zelda game. Boss battles are breeze but puzzles are hard. I gotta admit, the main character is basically an elf-version of Adol (now only if he had redder hair...). I heard that this similarity becomes even clearer in the ending so I am looking forward to it. I am guessing he dumps that elf girl to fight another evil in the land

Bought FFXII for $20. I love being behind the times. It's much more affordable. I could say that "I've played a couple hours" already, but it would be more accurately rendered as "I've watched a couple hours of cut-scenes, and ten minutes of my guys swing their swords on their own." Or even, "I've watched a couple hours of cut-scenes and controlled the camera for ten minutes."

Why can't most of recent games just let you beat up bad guys as soon as you press the start button (like God Hand)?
