I can't help pointing out that there's no way of telling that this is actually Ys VII. There isn't a "VII" anywhere in the logo, or any official mention of it. Of course, Ys VI didn't have a "VI" in the logo either...nontheless, this may be a side-story, or perhaps even a remake of Ys III.

There's already alot of material out about the Ys 3 remake for PS2, though. It would make sense to release information about the new Ys game (especially one that takes place in Felghana) only days apart from the Ys 3 PS2 release, though. Falcom is probably aware that Ys fans have this morbid fear of "This is the last game we get." Probably not a coincidence we learned about The Oath in Felghana a split second after Napishtim hit international shelves. Also, why would they bother waiting for the international release of Ys 6 to announce Ys 7? Does this mean they intend Felghana to go international, as well?#nosmileys

I know it's not called YsVII, at least not yet. But YsVI is actually called YsVI. Konami just removed the VI in their release for some reason. The original release is called YsVI.

Konami removed it, because new consumers have never heard of it. the last english release was in the early '90s (YSIV). so it was just about that.

....You mean Wanderers from Ys, aka Ys III, right? SNES game. That was the game we received from Falcom before Ark of Napishtim.

I heard that YsVII is suppose to be a continuation of YsVI like YsI and YsII... Does anyone know anything about this?

Hm... July 2004 - Ys6 (PC) Feburary 2005 - Ys1 (original version - PC) March 2005 - Ys1 (original version - PC) March 2005 - Ys: Ark of Napishtim (PS2) March 2005 - Ys6 novel March 2005 - Ys3 (PS2) March 2005 - Ys6 music - OST April 2005 - not sure what Ys that is... June 2005 - Ys: Oath of Felghana (windows) TBA: Ys4 (PS2) Ys5 (PS2) Ys6 (PSP) Ys2 - Ys6 (PC) Ys2- Ys5 (PC) Ys1 - Ys6 (PC) Ys... not sure what it is but it seem to be a Korean version Someone can correct me on the different pc version or something cause i dont read japanese (except for the words for 'Ys') and I'm guessing from the chinese words they have. But it does indicate that "This is a big year for Ys" BTW, page one is really just the history for the Ys game. Oh, it seems someone is kidnapped in this game

au, vodaphone, docomo are japanese wireless service companies (like cingular, verizon...) in asian countries, they have Ys games for cellphone. there are few screenshots at falcom website. www.falcom.com/mobile/index.htmlfrom what i read in the pdf file, it seems the oath in felghana is not Ys sequel but side story (gaiden) or possibly ys3 remake. i think that's why VII is not on the logo.

www.rpgfan.com/news/2005/1285.htmlSeems like we're all both right and wrong. It's set in the same region as Ys III and it seems like it will even involve the Valestinian (sp?) castle. But it's not Ys VII or a real continuation of Ys VI, a side story instead. I can't wait.

i'm a bit confused.... so, it's not Ys7 but it's the 7th Ys game...
if it's a side game of Ys3, does that mean it'll be the side scroll view game??

Perhaps it will be. If they were to do that then making the game a side story intead of a continuation of the main story would be a safe way to go. Like how Nintendo has a ton of ambitious ideas to revlutionize 2D platform games but doesn't want to risk tarnishing the Mario name, so they made the Wario Land series instead.

You never know, they can be pretty tricky. Like that part in Ys 6 where you get to that wall in the Limewater Caves and you just turn around and give up because, hey, when has Adol ever known anyone that could break through a wall? What a great plot twist. But yeah I was dumb to not just look at the screenshots. The 56K I'm on here makes me hesitant to do anything besides type.
