Will this game be translated or is Falcom going to do a US release?

I hear this is very similiar to YsVI, which should make an easy hack since NightWolve already knows how to do that.. But it might be because of that Korean issue. Or maybe no one's interested in translating this game.

Oh, couldn't someone post a screenshot of the config screen with a translation of all the options, I would be really greatful if some one would do that. It would be nice to know what differences I could do to the game with those config boxes there.

i agree a translation of the option screen would be wonderful, even if it is not a patch and just a wrtten faq of it. also a faq of what the accesseries do would be great.

If some one is going to translate this game they should first translate the config option and have it play on English WinXP instead of having to change the OS settings to Japanese. And do the same for Ys6.

One thing I'm worried about is that the PC version may not ever be fan translated once Konami, or just anybody, licences the game for a US release.
It may sound fine if it's gonna be for the PS2 (with cheats again to unlock the stuff it should have in the first place)....
....But because of the PS2 Ys VI's bad sales (or did I misheard the news?), the different marketing of video games in the US (2D games - BLECH), and the possibility of the Ys series selling better in the US via handhelds (the handheld owners will get all the fun)....
.... it made me wonder that, whether OiF gets licensed or not, there's a higher possibility of a fan translation for the PC version would be a GO.
But hey, Nightwolve and Friends got a life too, so either (1) we let them take a nice long break and be patient, or (2) we pay them a million dollars or (3) we tell Konami to hire these guys and give the game the treatment it deserves and maybe more.
Long story short - Oath in Felghana just ROCKS so much that the language barrier has to be demolished.... someway.... somehow.... someday.
PS: a translation of the Config utility and the ability to run the game in an English WinXP would be a good start ^^
PS: the English OiF screenshots Nightwolve showed us not long ago still mystifies me.

I very Much Doubt OiF will make it to the PS2 as the PS3 comes out this spring. Whenever a new system comes out they always stop making games for the old one of course, and I cant see Konami putting OiF out for the PS3. Owell

I really doubt that RIGG will be tackling any more Ys translations anytime soon. I understand that they're a bit burnt out, after Ys I, Ys II, and Ys IV. Also, unless I'm mistaken, they had plans for an Ys VI patch, but got sued, or at least issued a Cease & Desist order. I can only imagine something similar would happen should they actually decide to take up an YsF translation.

You need to simply learn to appreciate Japanese more is what I think. You don't need it in English... Japanese is way way more cool, silly, or haven't you figured that out already? He he he.

? I AM NOT JAPANESE! I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME AND EFFORT TO LEARN JAPANESE! And besides what fun is something that you cant understand or have to go through the hassle of changing your setting back and forth every time you want to play, no mater how COOL the language is.

The thing that really bothers me is the language settings (non-unicode programs) Why does this exist? What’s the reason for having this hassle?

OiF cost me $120
I'm kinda scared at the thought of scratching the disc because I put it in the rack..... a lot (you know how I feel!!!).
I at least need a patch to prevent that (like what was done before).
PS: BTW.... they always say "fumu" What does that mean (I couldn't find it in my dictionary)?

This reminds me of something I saw on ljdrama.org one time. Some attention-fiend chick was on a rant, complaining that people are lazy and ignorant because they won't learn japanese so they can watch a few imported episodes of Evangelion or some such without subtitles.
She was very passionate in her rant and it was hilarious.
