I envy your megaman work Nothing much today, just a finished commission of some album art for a friend's band. I liked the way the ocean turned out. Front and back of the CD cover.

I'm envious of your ability with the human form That's my biggest Achilles heel bleeh Anywho Hi guys! I've been caught up in a tumultuous storm of life and been gone for a while. To condense things heavily, I'll just say I'm getting married next month. ANYWAY; I do have a fair share of art since my last visit here, but I'll just post a lil bit lol. As for visual stuff, Here's a sketch of an Undead Fighter Mummy Pokémon Revenankh. I inspired his idea highly after Gibdos from Zelda and Ryu from Street Fighter. And a cute Dragon Quest inspired monster called a Trojan Slime. These guys are supposed to break upon defeat revealing several smaller enemies! I also have been heavily updating my musical skills, and am underway in producing a second remix album featuring some of my favorite battle themes with a symphonic style. Notably, this includes a lot of Ys tunes and I want you guys to tell me what you think of some of them so far... Ys I: Chase of Shadow Ys I: Final Battle Ys 2: Termination Ys 6: Ernst (My personal favorite) I think I'm on the right track so far with these heh.

I did come across this video where someone used one of my Megaman songs for his cosplay costume at a show. It was really flattering seeing and hearing it! youtu.be/hZNe_E8WqrUMusic starts at about 0:40 Also it's French I think?

I have no idea how you can improve those Ys arrangements. Actually, to be 100%, absolutely honest, while the Ys VI intro music remix WAS good and original, it wasn't in the same level of awesomeness as your other Ys tracks, I found. There was... SOMETHING it was, compared to the others, lacking? But it was still awesome. Honestly, since those were my earlier tracks, I'm picking up on a lot of errors and instrument issues. I was new to the music software and didn't really switch instruments around much, so they all kinda sound the same, with occasional garbles of dissonance. I think the Ys Redux's main mission would be to not only clean up those errors, but provide more cleaner instrumentation as well as add some of that "oomph" some songs need. (I'm looking at you, Protectors and Holders of Power...)

Indeed, that's why it'd be more of a novelty if anything. Just think of how cool we'll look ten years from now whipping out our CDs and having kids go "Hey that's a weird looking PS7 Disc!"

I would definitely be all on board for that idea! And yeah, I don't have a webby of my own :x Program is about as elusive as bunnies to me, so I"m not really good in that field. But I wholeheartedly appreciate any and all support and help you can give, and try my best to help out. I was thinking of running a couple CDs, but I didn't know how you'd go about that, and I'm fairly sure you'd need like 5 CDs for this release lol..

Hey guys, I've been gone awhile, but I promised I made a few doodles in that time-frame I say only a few,, because I got into an accident and ended up hurting my left arm real bad (I'm left-handed)so progress has been halted :x But hopefully these ones I made before that can tide ye over. They're thumbnails, so click them to view the larger resolution This first one is one I call "Satanic Counsel". The message is fairly clear, just be mindful of who or what you come to for advice. The cloudiest mind can lead to the murkiest of decisions. This was doodled on a post-it note, heh. The second piece is one called "Birthing of Chaos". It's a more emotional piece I was working on one night dwelling on rather unfortunate events from the recent past.. Namely an abortion one of my exes had without consulting me, or even telling me she was pregnant to begin with... I generally shy away from symbolic pieces, but this one was just reeking with them. Anticipation and despair over losing my child, hatred towards what happened causing the figure to appear evil and demonic, suspended forever in limbo waiting for a birth that will never come. The light that encircles you will never be able to give you warmth or nurture you. Forever a reminder of the horrible consequences a moment of selfish thinking can bring about. Skulltula from the Legend of Zelda games drawn in a more "KoA-ey" style Rough doodle of a like Demon Barbarian Warrior or something @_@ Cute lil buggy bug <3 Grilled Cheese Monster drawn while waiting for food at a restaurant lol Magneton the Pokemon drawn as a Dragon type. Can you tell I like YuGiOh a lot? And some cute lil Slugfrog pokemon I made up, this was my last colored piece I made. Like I said, I can't really do anymore until I heal up :c

That coincides with the discovery of a young kitten I found the other day in the middle of the road, of course ended by uncaring drivers. Sometimes cruelty makes the blood boil beyond measure.. :/

I would like to be able to have the album able to be downloaded, but I don't have any knowledge of that Also forgive the noobie question, but what do you mean by print? And after a brainstorming session at work when I should actually you know, be working; I decided the next album will be an Ys Redux album. This not only gives me an opportunity to fine-tune the bad flaws in the Ys songs, but also dedicate more to the great series of music. Thoughts?

I actually have no problem at all with your criticisms and appreciate the honesty and indepth breakdown. I agree on most every point you made, and funnyy enough, those were older tracks that had issues. One thing I liked the most about this project is that it shows progression. The first track made was FF1's Battle Theme and the final was Jail of Jewels. I was planning another album down the road, and will be aware of these flaws for next time. Although truth be told, I feel like I'm way more blessed with art graphics wise lol.

First off I want to say hello again guys I realize I'v been gone quite a while. Well truth be told, I've been busy with life a lot as is, and time to play has been more and more scarce. On the plus side though, I WAS able to finish a particular project that was about 3 years in the making, my game remix project! This project is called "Phasma Enigmagorio: Time of the World" And showcases about 82 tracks of remixes from games of tons of franchises that left an impact of some sort on my life. My only intention with this was to show others the inspiration that these tunes have given me and hope that it can inspire others further like me. Links to all 82 songs Keep in mind these songs were all made over different points in time, so the quality is kind of all over. I'm particularly fond of "Termination", "Jail of Jewels", "Lava Reef Zone", and "Endless Mine", so hopefully the effort really shows in those tracks in particular.

I just wish that area was fleshed out more and made more than a stupid hedge maze. The boss was pretty random too. I mean, all the others at least had some kind of back story from Origins, right?

I'm chalking that up to coincidence if anything. In both songs, that section is only a minor part that gives way to the main melody. Although the Origin version of Overdrive did put extra emphasis on that part, it's still only minor. In the Sigma Mix, It plays a little heavier of a role, being a main part of the song then giving way to the second main part before it loops again. It's just an example of using the same few notes in a drastically different effect. As for the whole Metroid similarity. Well, the Ys get item theme is pretty much IS the Metroid theme. Or rather, it's the background melody of the Metroid Item theme, just raised a higher pitch. You can hear it best from the NES version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpAB3kkIXg4

The graphics were cute for a DS game, even though they were just downgrades from the COMPLETE original sprites. However it did add in a new interesting area and a new boss, Petrorex. And look at this fucking sweet mugshot of Darm: I don't remember if that was actually ever used ingame or not, but I found it in the game's visual data and it's amazing.

I stopped listening when I heard him talk. I get very annoyed easily when I hear people talk in reviews and stuff. Maybe because I'm easily annoyed by voices? Idk, it's a weird psychological problem of mine. This is why I avoid Let's Plays and video reviews. /end jerk mode
