Unfortunatly I could not make the patch working because of size mismatch. Since I don't have the original game I've downloaded ISO/MP3 version. I know you don't deal wtih warez but try to bear with me a little. The ISO I've got with .CUE sheet refused to get burnt by CDRWIN and CDRWIN keeps telling me at line 129 PREGAP is too small. FILE "Track32.iso" BINARY TRACK 32 MODE1/2048 PREGAP 00:02:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 SO I've checked this website : rigg.arrowsmash.com/aki/ys4.html rigg.arrowsmash.com/aki/files/Ys4_cdrwin.cueand found the .CUE sheet differs from mine FILE "Track_32.iso" BINARY TRACK 32 MODE1/2048 PREGAP 00:03:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 except for the underscore before file number name and pregap everything was completly match in both of the .CUEs so I used this one and CDRWIN accepted the job and I really don't know why 00:02:00 does not work and 00:03:00 does work but finally I managed to get it burnt and the game worked perfectly on MagicEngine with music and graphics, nothing seemed to be wrong ( Except for the Japanese characters ). For the MP3s there was a xaudio.dll, xaudio.exe and extractor.bat that converted them to .WAV format pretty fast. I followed the tutorial for making exact .bin image using CDRWIN supplied with Eng trans. file from YsIV(US)v95.cab and did everything mentioned step by step but later on I discovered that the final size of my image was neither one of the supported file sizes. 771,385,440 bytes I am still noob in Japanese all I understood was Shikashi from the crystal lady which means however and Hai ( Yes ) Iee ( No ) Heeeeelp I want to play the game in English so what should I do Thanks for the work though

Still no replies. I went and checked some info and I hope it can be useful. First of all the .cue I burnt was in RAW mode although in .cue it has the following lines: FILE "Track02.iso" BINARY TRACK 02 MODE1/2048 PREGAP 00:03:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 so I figuredout that burning in CDRWIN should not be in RAW mode so I unchecked the RAW checkbox. I burnt the image and it worked again. Now I deicded to make an image from it. When I used RAW mode with Subcode Analysis as quick in the .CUE I get TRACK 02 MODE1/2352 PREGAP 00:03:00 INDEX 01 00:45:60 and same image size 771,385,440 bytes I tried to make another image in CDRWIN but RAW mode unchecked then the size was 756,396,112 bytes and both of them are not supported by the De-Japanization patch I don'y know what is the workaround to solve this problem if there is any

OK, what I need to know is the exact filenames of the files. If it says Track_32.iso, change it to that in the CUE (just use notepad). If the filename is Track32.iso - change the filename to that.
Or, you could make your own CUE file, using Cassini (a Sega Saturn emulator), for example. I use the program a lot (not as an emulator, though) because it has many useful tools built-in.

I've already removed the underscore '_' from filenames or I will get error message. I have a goon knowledge in editing and Hex editing but I am still wondering what cause this small shift in filesize although the game run with no problems at the present. I've managed to edit the Patch.bat file and added support for my image size to bypass the patch restriction but as soon as i play the game and Adol reach the village the game hangs then something wrong must have happened and the patch overwritten important assebly info instead of replacing Nihon characters.
Changing /2048 of .cue sheet to /2356 then I will get error of invalid blocks in WINCDR so it is 2048 indeed.
I will write down size of each .wav .iso file in bytes and I hope if you have ISO/MP3 to see where is the difference of course I will pass MP3 sizes because they are useless.
Track02.iso 67,420,160 bytes Track32.iso 33,560,576 bytes
Track01.wav 8,077,868 bytes Track03.wav 20,888,108 bytes Track04.wav 20,694,572 bytes Track05.wav 31,140,908 bytes Track06.wav 30,205,484 bytes Track07.wav 18,339,884 bytes Track08.wav 21,358,124 bytes Track09.wav 19,510,316 bytes Track10.wav 20,537,900 bytes Track11.wav 20,086,316 bytes Track12.wav 19,915,820 bytes Track13.wav 21,533,228 bytes Track14.wav 21,560,876 bytes Track15.wav 22,035,500 bytes Track16.wav 20,791,340 bytes Track17.wav 22,192,172 bytes Track18.wav 22,187,564 bytes Track19.wav 20,888,108 bytes
Track20.wav 32,564,780 bytes Track21.wav 17,777,708 bytes Track22.wav 20,957,228 bytes Track23.wav 31,408,172 bytes Track24.wav 14,257,196 bytes Track25.wav 18,173,996 bytes Track26.wav 13,427,756 bytes Track27.wav 11,225,132 bytes Track28.wav 19,256,876 bytes Track29.wav 28,090,412 bytes Track30.wav 55,858,220 bytes Track31.wav 10,437,164 bytes
I hope if there is some hacker here can shift the patch to match the version I have but I am still wondering what cause this mismatch in size. Uncompressing MP3 using xaudio.dll and here is the extractor.bat
xaudio -output=wav:"Track01.wav" "Track01.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track03.wav" "Track03.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track04.wav" "Track04.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track05.wav" "Track05.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track06.wav" "Track06.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track07.wav" "Track07.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track08.wav" "Track08.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track09.wav" "Track09.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track10.wav" "Track10.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track11.wav" "Track11.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track12.wav" "Track12.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track13.wav" "Track13.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track14.wav" "Track14.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track15.wav" "Track15.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track16.wav" "Track16.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track17.wav" "Track17.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track18.wav" "Track18.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track19.wav" "Track19.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track20.wav" "Track20.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track21.wav" "Track21.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track22.wav" "Track22.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track23.wav" "Track23.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track24.wav" "Track24.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track25.wav" "Track25.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track26.wav" "Track26.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track27.wav" "Track27.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track28.wav" "Track28.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track29.wav" "Track29.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track30.wav" "Track30.mp3" xaudio -output=wav:"Track31.wav" "Track31.mp3"

For the .CUE sheet I am using : FILE "Track01.WAV" WAVE TRACK 01 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track02.iso" BINARY TRACK 02 MODE1/2048 PREGAP 00:03:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track03.WAV" WAVE TRACK 03 AUDIO PREGAP 00:02:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track04.WAV" WAVE TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track05.WAV" WAVE TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track06.WAV" WAVE TRACK 06 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track07.WAV" WAVE TRACK 07 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track08.WAV" WAVE TRACK 08 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track09.WAV" WAVE TRACK 09 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track10.WAV" WAVE TRACK 10 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track11.WAV" WAVE TRACK 11 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track12.WAV" WAVE TRACK 12 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track13.WAV" WAVE TRACK 13 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track14.WAV" WAVE TRACK 14 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track15.WAV" WAVE TRACK 15 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track16.WAV" WAVE TRACK 16 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track17.wav" WAVE TRACK 17 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track18.wav" WAVE TRACK 18 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track19.wav" WAVE TRACK 19 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track20.wav" WAVE TRACK 20 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track21.wav" WAVE TRACK 21 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track22.wav" WAVE TRACK 22 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track23.wav" WAVE TRACK 23 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track24.wav" WAVE TRACK 24 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track25.wav" WAVE TRACK 25 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track26.wav" WAVE TRACK 26 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track27.wav" WAVE TRACK 27 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track28.wav" WAVE TRACK 28 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track29.wav" WAVE TRACK 29 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track30.wav" WAVE TRACK 30 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track31.wav" WAVE TRACK 31 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 FILE "Track32.iso" BINARY TRACK 32 MODE1/2048 PREGAP 00:02:00 INDEX 01 00:00:00 But as I said before I changed the section for Track32.iso to increase the PREGAP from 00:03:00 because CDRWIN will report error on PREGAP 00:02:00 I am trying to download other file for Ys IV and I hope it can solve the problem or I will be in deep trouble. I am ready for testing or Hex Editing but I need a someone eho guides me on what to do. pls

Do NOT change the pregap. Do not use CDRwin if that doesn't work. Use Nero. Are you sure you are using wave files? Or is it MP3? In that case, convert them to wave (it MUST be 44,1 KHz). Also, the filenames must be identical and you can not use spaces in the filenames. If they have spaces, remove them from the filenames and in the cue-sheet.

Here is the news. I successfully burnt it using nero without changing the PREGAP. The game is fully functioning in Magic Engine with Sound and no hangs at the entry to the village. I ripped the NERO copy by using CDRWIN with the setting suggested by the readme.txt in patch for de-Japanization except for the speed of reading which is set it to 8X since it is killing to wait 40mintues to see what will happen All thing went smoothly and now the size of the game has changed to 771,138,480 bytes ( Still not supported though ) I think I will hang myself and rest in peace. The WAV files I checked them using Windows Explorer and Winamp Bitrate 1411kbps Audio Sample rate 16 bit Channels 2 ( stereo ) Audio sample rate 44Khz ( aka 44100 ) Format PCM Now what should I do ? BTW I am using CD-RW at least I am not stupid to burn that much CDs

Well, did you try patching the downloaded ISO like NightWolve said? I mean BEFORE burning the stuff.
Also, is your archive a RIGG archive? This patch is made for the RIGG release(s) and it should work on any RIGG archive that isn't corrupt in some way - or an original game. If you downloaded YsIV from somewhere else (i.e. not RIGG), there's a chance it might not work with the patch (due to a bad rip, etc.)

Masaka 'Impossible' It worked !!! It worked !!!! Yokata You cannot imagine how glad I am When I post my message I did not notice the post Nightwolf because the page was already loaded in the browser tab so I hit reply. How come I did not notice that my ISO is the same size as the ISO in the patch.bat my be I need to change my glasses That .Bin/.Cue has turned my head upside down. And all the time being I was Burning/Reading not to mention that CDRWIN 3.9K does not support my Sony DRU 702A DVD burner so I had to do network copy to the other pc in my home and use the CD writer there and all the time the focus was to get the patch for the .bin and no body has mentioned the ISO even in the supplied readme.txt the focus was on the sizes of .bin files and my releases wasn't Rigg release . But it is in English now and thanks to you guys. You are my heroes !!!! Nightwolf you are wolf of Mibu and It was not me who posted on Rigg forum and unfortunatly If I new that post exists there it might have saved me from all this trouble. The casualities is 2 CDs Japanese version and 1 coaster thanks to Alcohol who generated error message at 1% as Invalid recorded arguments ( Use Nero from now on ) Sorry for writing so long message and Arigatou Gozaimasu
