I really liked OiF as well due to being a better remake, action, and its even harder than the other versions. One of the best remakes yet!

I prefer the Snes music also cause it kinda has a spanish theme to it, well thats just for me anyways. Memories are flooding back to me on how good these games were to me.

This is getting very redundant! xD As if it already didn't...
I on't repeat myself or anything, but I want to say that I also don't understand why people don't like the PS2 version Ys III over the others. Like I guessed in 2006, I think it's because most actually didn't play it.
Wyrdwad, you are a cool guy at everything, but I don't understand you at all regarding Ys III PS2!!! xDDDD It makes me feel kind of..."confused". I make a "huh?" face. xD
But... it's good to find someone who also sees Ys III like me. xD

The PC-8800/9800 versions are cool indeed, but I too still prefer the Mega Drive version. I really like the PS2 one, but it can't beat the glimmering retro awesome-ance that illuminates the old ones. This sounds strange. And that's the reason it was written.

Didn't you like the X68000 version more, FM-77? I remember you pointing out something about the Genesis version being a "copy paste" of some sort of the X68000 version, but inferior... wasn't it?

Oh yeah. I forgot. Well, I still think I like the MD version more, after all. It has a certain atmosphere not found in any other version. And I change my mind a lot.

X68000 is closer to the SNES version visually. I think. : I noticed that as well. Jesus Ys3 was practically on every game system, even today with windows and PS2!

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm new here and wanted to give my opinion...
I actually own the Turbo CD, SNES, Genesis and PS2 versions. After thinking it over, while I can find at least something small to like in every version (i.e. - awesome soundtrack from the Turbo version, etc>), I will say my favorite is...the PS2 version!!! I know I'm in the minority but something about it I like. I know, I know, they could have done a much better job but I just like it. I guess would also make it a tie with OiF but that's a full remake so I was just picking my fav among the actual "ports"...

The PS2 version is so sweet! Seriously, with PS2 Adol? I'm surprised he hasn't snuck his way into a fighting game yet!

I've already said my piece. You all know where I stand on PS2 Ys III. You all enjoy your silly little game, and I'll be over here, snugglin' with Oath in Felghana. -Tom Hey, hey, hold on a second there buddy! The poll asks for your favorite version and OiF isn't there! OiF is actually my favorite between all of them BUT OiF is a full on remake, whereas we are talking about our favorite side-scrolling version of good ol' Ys III

I'm currently playing the NES version now.
It's...different to say the least. This is my first time playing Ys III, so I'm a bit frustrated with the change in style from the first 2. I just beat the flying dragon boss in the lava area, then saved the state and turned it off.
I also have the SNES and Genesis versions on standby for when I finish. Any other versions I can emulate on my PSP as well? (It's pretty much my only way to play any Ys game.)
Not sure if there exists a psp emulator for MSX, X680000000000000, PC-numbers, or Turbografx systems. :/

Wow, are these PSPMSX emulators as good as (or even better) than BlueMSX, by any chance?
I have yet to play (and finish) Ys II and Ys III for MSX2.

Yeah I'm having no problem running Ys on it, but is the game supposed to be kinda choppy when moving?

Oh well that's a bit disheartening but at least I'm running it well enough to play.

Oh, I gotcha now. I guess the original systems weren't the fastest.
But then why does Vampire Killer play so fast, lol?

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all this talk on the MSX emulators for the PSP. It got me wondering about it and now I got it thanks to you guys! Now, if only there would ever be a way to play OiF on the go

I've only played the Genesis and Famicom versions, and I think I'm going to have to go with the ol' FC. The Genesis version is excellent, but I have a weak spot for 8-bit Famicom tunes. Also, no one ever votes for the FC Ys versions anyway... usually.
So yeah, go Famicom.
