Rumors say it's cancelled. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I have read that it was moved back to very late 2004, or possibly early 2005. However, if we ever want to see English releases, we'd better damn well hope that Konami's release of Ark of Napishtim sells like hot cakes in the U.S.
Speaking of which, Ark of Napishtim hits American shelves on Febuary 9th of 2005. I've already reserved my copy at GameStop. I suggest you do the same. The higher the U.S. turn out, the higher our chances of seeing further English releases in the future.

ok....so i installed the language pack and then went to their website.....I cant tell what the month is but the date clearly has a 3 in it and 2005, So I am thinking January 3rd or February 3rd. And it also shows that it is a CD game and not a DVD game so I am assuming it isnt all that long, but I dont care what anyone says, the game is really a great game, not as good as the others but it is still great.

Is it just a port of the Turbo version, or is it spified up for PS2?

Definitely not a port. This is a full-blown remake with awesome, hand drawn graphics. Best version of Ys 3, no doubt.

Most people are in hate Ys III in general camp. Not me. III was the first Ys game I played way back on my good ol' Turbo CD system. I was completely blown away by the music and the intro. Good times.

Don't let Wyrdwad fool you: it's an excellent version of Ys 3. Totally gets the point of the game... all the speed and action of the other versions is there, replaced with Adol actually running along at a cheetah's pace and given a handful of totally new sword maneuvers.

One thing I did not like about this version was the Redmont music. Other than that, I think it's great! I love the way Adol looks on screen. The graphics are incredible. My favorite version is the Turbo one, but I really do like this one a lot. It was a bit easy, but that made it fun.

Oh well, there we go again... Anyone interested on a good debate of this game in comparison to the other versions, check here. Then just play the game and stick for an opinion. : )

This is definitely the second best version of Ys III. OiF is obviously the definitive version of Ys III (even though it is ridicuously wordy and imo all the extra dialog doesn't add anything to the game... and actually might take something away from it), but the PS2 remake is right behind it. In some ways it is better (beautiful hand drawn graphics vs last gen 3D) and it is of course more true to the original since it is a sidescrolling game.
I dunno, sometimes I am in the mood for 3d Ys III and so I have OiF. Sometimes I am in the mood for sidescroller Ys III, and the PS2 remake is a best sidescroller version.
