heh xD C'mon, it's not that bad. It is one of the most enjoyable versions and, as I'm aware of, it has the best official english translation.
Also this version is "faved" by most.

Ys III for SNES seems to be the only Ys game many people have played, from what I've read around the net. They all seem to love it too. Even one guy I showed Ys Felghana to at my college last year said he liked "the one for SNES" (there is only one he could have played).
For me, personally, it was my first taste of Ys III, and when I played the PCE version afterwards I remember finding that I liked how the SNES version handled some things better.
I never found it hard at any moment, though. Ys III is the easiest and shortest of the lot, if you ask me.
And I thought that it was only the music of the game that was "faved" by most Ys fans?

You just gotta remember to level up, like any old school action rpg. If you do, it's really not hard. It's the first version of Ys III I played and I really like it. There are some things that are better in the PCE CD version and others are better on the SNES. They sure beat the Genesis version, that's for sure.

And I thought that it was only the music of the game that was "faved" by most Ys fans? If memory serves right, it was Wyrdwad's favorite.

SNES Ys III is kickin' rad, yo. =[
Admittedly, Turbografx got the coolor music, but I totally dig on the SNES chiptunes versions, too.

In my opinion the snes ys3 has better graphics than the PC engine and genesis.

In my opinion the snes ys3 has better graphics than the PC engine and genesis. Yes, defintiely in agreement with you. If we had Ys III with the graphics of the SNES, and the music of the PCE, that would be sweet.

I remember a long time ago at a Kay Bee Toyworks factory outlet there was a floor manager there that was lecturing the cashier to recommend THAT GAME (of course by then I already had it).
Random trivia, but I always thought that was kind of weird.

*le sigh* The main thing that holds back the grafx in the Turbo version is the damn crappy scolling. I think the guy that programmed it, was also responsible for the programming of the Turbo Ninja Gaiden, seems to be plagued by the same problem.
There were a few spots here n' there, that didn't have the choppy scrolling....which is wierd. Not sure what kind of crack the programmer was on. Frankly, since it was a cd, rather than super cd, I would've prefered the no paralax at all, with better graphics, then the crappy attempt we got:(
I know it'll never happen, but, wouldn't it rock, if Hudson went in(since they have the original source code) & FIXED the damn game!? And wouldn't it rock ever harder, if they went in & made it look like the Legend of Xanadu side scrolling parts? Now that would be nice, & I'd be more likely to buy a Wii, just for the scoll fix alone, let alone a graphics upadate! Never gonna happen, it just won't.

I think they worked more on the sounds for the PCE than the actual game since back then voice acting and good music was a big deal back then and the only other games that actually was close was altered beast and Star fox. I'm not saying PCE is a bad system but when it comes to Ys 3 it's really one's opinion what system it was good for. I liked the snes version of ys3 cause I grew up with it since I was a little boy and was very fond of it. My brother bought it off some fat guy for 5 bucks. And that wasn't the only good game we bought off that guy like 5 bucks for the Original Final Fantasy for the nes. sweet.

As well as the gameplay (where's the challenge?). The graphics are also quite bad overall. Definitely the worst console Ys III in my opinion.

Another problem I didn't like about the genesis Ys was that the boss music were all switched around. For example when I fought Dularn (first boss) I here the Shock of the death god theme than dark beast as black as night theme. Is this suppose to happen or is there something wrong with my rom? Another thing, were are you guys getting all these cool MSX and X68000 roms. I want to play some games on those systems. Can you guys read Japanese, cause how are you guys playing all these cool falcom games when most of them have never been translated.....just curious.)

Hey mister. I have a folder with all the Ys ROMs on the ALOY FTP, but I'm not at home now so I cannot access it now. I'll be back!

Well I just found and played the X68000 Ys3 rom and was slightly impressed. The game is a little easiers to play with, you get pushed backed when hit, and the experienced leveling up is slower but the stats is heavily increased. The only problem is that the graphics aren't really much improved from other systems yet its still smooth, and its not letting me go further in the cave cause for some reason a giant wall of sand (looks glitched) is blocking the way. I'm tired of playing this game on different systems and trying out which one is the best, so right now playing Ys on the X68000 is pointless.
