Has anybody seen this movie? I think it's a really good one. Let's discuss it right here!

I've seen it and thought it was great - in a trippy sort of way. But then again, all Miyazaki movies have some pretty off-the-wall concepts and imagery.
Still, I think I prefer Princess Mononoke out of all Miyazaki films, although I've only seen these two, plus My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa Castle in the Sky, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Still waiting on a US release of Porco Rosso and his forthcoming Howl's Moving Castle.

His movies are weird in a good way, it's best to see them as a Fairy Tale instead of serious anime, then they make the best sence to me . I have seen Princess Monoke, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away (in the movie theater, that is VERY rare in my country) and Kiki's Delivery. They are all good but not my kind of style anime, they are good to watch with a/your girl though...

I've seen about 30min of Spirited Away and I can tell you all this: I HATE IT. It was bad, terrible and lousy. I really disliked it.

Spirited away was good, though Miyazaki does better i think.
Princess Mononoke is excellent.
There is also Castle in the Sky.. which is also very good ( great soundtrack to this too, although all Miyazaki films have good music )
I have most of his stuff on DvD if you ever want it.

Castle in the Sky?? Sounds VERY familiar to "II Ys: Castle in the heavens".
I downloaded a trailer to "Howl's Movin' Castle" - I thought it sucked BIG time, not even intressted.

Spirited Away was a great movie, again showing that Miyazaki can produce something different but beautiful each time.
Contrary to some views here, I think that Mononoke is one of his weakest works - to me his best movies are Laputa, Porco Rosso and Totoro. Nausicaa is a classic, but far superceded by the epic manga (which is an essential read).
But let's not forget the other Ghibli movies like Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart (amazing film) and the overly long but still appealing Pompoko.

I have been a Ghibli fan for quite a while, and I like all of Miyazaki's films, from his start with Nausicaa in th 80s to the current films like Howl. I guess I'm kind of a dreamer and like this fantasy stuff, but I would have to say some of Ghibli's films can be completely out of touch for some people.

Hey, maybe there are people like me out there who only have basic cable TV and none of the anime channels. Turner Classic Movies is airing Miyazaki movies in English and Subtitles every Thursday this month To celebrate his birthday. They just showed Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke which I thought was pretty cool of them to do. Anyway if you're bored one night maybe you could treat yourself to some great art this month.

great movie! i liked Princess Mononoke better, but i really like how in both there isn't a clear cut Good v. Evil theme.

They just showed Nausicaa and Castle in the Sky last night on TV! Freaking amazing movies. Composer Joe Hisaishi is the man. No wonder he is the one who gave Yuzo Koshiro early training.
