Only four episodes? I think that's a bit... like Ys. It gets me wondering what video game of Ys it will be based on. (Or maybe Falcom finally found an animation studio for that pilot? Naah, I know too little.)

I've heard it'll be based on a new Ys game.

I meant "new" as in "not yet released."

I meant "new" as in "not yet released." Like Ys Strategy?

I think its gonna be promoting Ys Strategy, since thats the only Marvelous Interactive Ys game so far.
I just hope that even though its 4 episodes, that they wont do what The King of Fighters: Another Day did, which is also a 4 episode anime... except that each episode is about 5 minutes long...
EDIT: i just realized that the anime is set to be released in late 2006... but Ys Strategy is coming out in Japan in March, so that wouldnt make sense if it were trying to promote Ys Strategy. Seldane mentioned once that there are a couple of new, unannounced Ys games in 2006... so i guess it'll have to do with one of those.

I wouldn't mind a Ys Strategy anime. It would be especially good for those who aren't interested in playing Ys Strategy because of their dislike of RTS games.
In other words, you wouldn't have to tech tree and build units to enjoy the anime, and you'd still get whatever backstory it has to offer.
