If I were Adol, I would have given my roda seed to that guy in the bar (Donis?). I would have dug up the sword without talking to the tree. I totally know that the sword is there, so I don't need to speak to those trees.
I always wondered what would happen if you gave him the seed. I mean he SAYS he wants it for himself, so why can't you give it to him then? What were they planning with that? Why would he say that?
I know Ys 1 went through some SERIOUS last-minute changes... maybe that's why it has so many unanswered questions. I remember the first time I finished it, I was so disappointed! What about this? And that? And those things? Practically nothing regarding the people in the game got cleared out.

Donis is the guy with the eyepatch that you give the ring to. It's that other dude that wants to eat Roda's nuts. // If I were Adol, I would keep my wing items with me.  I never understood why I had to give up my Wings when entering Darm Tower; I would be able to escape that way from the outer areas, and then stock up on better equips before finishing my confrontation with the Fukt!  |

Why? Your levels and equipment reset everytime you travel between countries!
If I were Adol, I'd keep my equipment and consider the possibility of air-travel -- it'll happen eventually!

Hmm, you're right. In that case I guess I'd seek an adventure in the "Greek" region of the Ys World Map. I'd love to see an Ys adventure loosely based on various Greek myths.
Adol vs. The Minotaur, Adol vs. Medusa, Adol vs. Leviathon, Adol vs. Scylla, Adol vs. Sorceress Circe, et cetera. It'd be one hell of an adventure.

Greek would have to be pretty unique compared to its mythological counterpart. Needless to say, I'd feel a little cheated if (however awesome it was) they went all Battle of Olympus on me.

...and if it's ever on Wii VC, I'll get it. But Adol just... should never be in *THE* Greece. I'm hoping that Greek is very *loosely* based off of either mythology, or Greece itself.
