I can´t understand why such a thing isn´t available for the newer Sony Ericsson phones (like K750i), which are nearly used the most here in Germany (and also in whole Europe I think)...Ys would be a game worth playing via such a phone...more than anything else.

why cant they just generalize the coding for games on phones -.- I find myself wondering the same thing and I'm hoping to find an explanation soon. I mean, all these games are Java, right? I got a Samsung t509 today, great phone and an awesome deal from T-Mobile, only to find that none of Hudson's games, not even Ys, will run on it apparently. Has anyone seen a more current list (as in, not from early 2005) of what phones support this game? Hudson's website doesn't have one that I can see, and the list of carriers isn't too helpful. Most Motorolas seem to be able to run it, but few Sony Ericsson and few Samsung, and I kind of wish I understood why. Kind of a drag.

I beg to differ... I think Ys would be able available on any models. It would really depend on your cell carrier. I have a Sony Errisson z500a (a big peace of crap) but my phone provider has Ys for download. Now, can you, in Europe, be able to download? I dont know but you can try it. Just don't blame me when it cost you $50 for download fee rogers.clearmode.com/brandstore/go?store=rogers&lang=enI think Ys is under the adventure list...

Just got this on T-mobile a couple of days ago. Pretty sweet, choppy, but it is Ys. I have a Motorola V3 RAZR, and I was pretty psyched about getting it. BTW anyone who has the game, does it have the Golden Vase? I can't find it anywhere.

(Why is it wrong? Does Nintendo still manufacture the NES? Do the companies still make money with their old games? No, it's a dead system and the only ones who make money are the people who resells what they already have. So cut it out!) Edit: Sorry about that. I guess I was a little drunk yesterday and answered something from page 1 of this thread.

I don't mind a cellphone "port" of Ys COMPLETE (from 2001).

Nintendo has closed the production line of the NES a few years back (20th aniversary) for production of the Nintendo DS

My wife had surgery, and I've been stuck in the hospital for the better part of the last 2 days. I discovered Ys on my cell phone for only 4.99 while playing around in the menu out of boredom. It's alot better than I thought it would be. The one major difference is that they took Minea and Zepic out of the game. The towns are just menu's now. Also while the graphics seem to be similar to Ys Eternal, the level design is not. I have a Motorola phone, but I'm not sure of the model number.

Bumping old, cool thread with old, potentially useful info.
That list of cellphone models this game originally worked on (apparently there were even more added after Seldane's first post was made?) might be pretty helpful to me, and it's pretty cool to see a potential then-rep of Hudson's actually came to post in here, and revealed that the second Hudson game that DID get released in Japan was also being considered to be brought over, as well.
But damnit, I still need to find someone willing to sell me this. xD
Also, according to some research, it should basically work on most J2ME (Java 2.0 Micro Edition) and BREW-enabled phone, whatever "BREW" is.
