I just ordered Ys I & 2 Complete, Ys VI the Ark..., and Ys : the Oath from Falcom and i was curious, any special things i need to do to get these to run on my PC when i recieve them? Since they are from Japan. Also I have the translations for 1&2. Are there any for The Ark and The Oath? Thanks.
Im have been really looking forward to playing this series ever since i saw it on the TG-16 (as Book 1 and 2) i did play part 3 on Genesis.

install Japanese(eastern) language support of windows. some games require osaka time zone during installation. for Ys 6 Ark of Napishtim and Ys Oath in Felghana there is no complete tranlation available, just menu and such. but why buy Ys VI for PC, since Konami brought a fairly good PS2 version (new engine) and a much better PSP(direct PC port) version to the US, and Europe.

The PS2 version does not feature a new engine and the PSP version is not a direct PC port and it is a horrible game. Stay far, far away from it.

Seldane is correct in all respects. PS2 style is what you want if you want to read what people are saying.

But there will soon be a translation for Ys6 and Felghana (if everything goes right). I say stick with the PC version. Also, you can use Applocale, a free microsoft program for Windows users, instead of switching to jap mode after you install.

Stay far, far away from it. the PS2 version has a new engine compared to the PC version, and I hate the CGI stuff they did. and ok the PSP loading time are horrible, but other than that it's the best translated Ys 6 version out there.

Thank You all very much for your answers. I decided to go with the PC versions of all the games so i would have them all together. Besides i can take my notebook anywhere. I do have a PS2 but i think the PC version of Ys VI looks more like it belongs with the rest of the series. It is also the original style of the game so my motto is "if it isn't broke dont fix it." So all the money Konami put into overhauling part VI could have been spent porting the rest of the series over. Afterall most people wont buy VI when they no nothing about 1-5. Even if they are stand alone stories, most casual gamers dont know that. Anyway, i'm glad i found these boards they we're a tremendous help in helping me order the games from Falcom and an even bigger help in playing them. So for that i thank you all very much...

All I can say about the original graphics for Ys VI is that I will never be able to look at Chibi-Ernst and not laugh in my soul. There's no way to take him seriously at all.

Could you link to where you ordered from? I'm interested in purchasing them too. Ebay is pretty empty these days, except for the PS2 versions.

Well you can order Direct from Falcom Which most everyone here does or you can go the expensive route of Himeyashop.com If Himeya doesnt have a game they will do thier best to get it for you I'll say that much for em.
