What the hell is that "Ys Project"? I'd love to know the details about this (if it is "oficial", when that was said and any other related information)
I've heard about that thing quite a few times...though it sounds pretty much "fan fiction" to me. Hope I'm wrong. : )

Just a fan-made music CD with a little story tied to it. The story was posted by Gamemusicfreak and the music is... well, original music. Inspired by Ys. That's pretty much all there's to it. Absolutely not canonical/official in any way. It's about as official as this:
Adol is actually a woman.

Here's Atsushi Fukai's English website, there you can listen to music samples from Project Ys. mushi.net/eng/

lol. Where did you did that up from? lol Is it actually an Ys fanart or from something else?
By the by I had a question to add that is driving me a bit nuts trying to figure it out.
Fill in the blank:
"The ancient land of Ys was a utopian civilization watched over by two goddesses and six ________ ."
a. oracles b. wisemen c. old geezers d. guardians?
I honestly for the life of me cannot recall what the "official" title of these six people were. Please help. : 0

Aha! So it was "Priests". Thank you very much! And to think I played a priest in WoW for 6 months and couldn't think of this one word. It was literally on the tip of my tongue and I just couldn't remember it. Geesh.

Ah nice edit work! I didn't notice it was an edit at all since Adol's face looks like a woman in that picutre anyway regardless of the body-type. lol Actually I think I've seen those two individual screenshots before I forgot all about them. I really should do an Ys marathon again. I'm forgetting so much.

Well I'm planning an Ys marathon of sorts so that I can more or less refresh myself with the story and try to document parts of the plot flow this time around and set it up in a similar style as to how the Xak game's story articles are written over at XyZ. But I'd really like to sort out the info from Xak III's story/characters and the new scanned content such as artworks and bestiary information before moving on to Ys entirely, but I'm very anxious to work on the Ys sections at this point and I've already started writing a summary of an introduction to the series so that I'll have something in the way of content ready to go by the time I'm ready to start working on it.
This is true. You won't have to really remember the story of most of them in too much detail. Though, as I say that Twilight Princess has a fair bit of plot thus far. It's really quite enjoyable to see them take the typical Zelda story/formula and start expanding on it a bit more. Zelda will be the last thing I develop the sections for at XyZ because Zelda is already popular enough, while I'd rather focus efforts on selling the Xak and Ys series to more gamers who might not have heard of either series.
By the way, few more questions I wanted to get canon information about:
1. Darm's Tower: Was it always called Darm's Tower? Was it built when Darm took over Ys/Esteria or did it exist before then. I was under the impression that it was built sometime after the fall "or rather the literal rise" of Ys in order to establish communication between the floating landmass of Ys and the more um... stationary landmass of Esteria. Do we known when the tower was bult? I'd love to see an Ys timeline if one exists.
2. Cleria: Darm and the demons arrived out of Ys harnessing the power of using too much cleria/magic correct? Is there more information on this event?
3. The event of breaking apart Ys into the sky. This was caused by the two goddesses and the six priests correct as to prevent the demons from escaping Ys and entering Esteria, or was it the other way around?
4. Storm Barrier: Was this too, something the two goddesses and six priests made as a safety net to hold the demons at Esteria/Ys? Or was established by the demons and the power of the blackpearl.
Thanks for all your help. These were all questions I wasn't too clear on and would really like to know.

To my knowledge, the Storm Barrier was a fairly recent thing. I was under the impression it was made by Dark Fact in order to keep Esteria from receiving outside assistance. If I recall properly, and I may not, didn't it fall after defeating Dark Fact? or is this conjecture on my part?

The monsters built Darm Tower in order to reach Ys. The monsters were led by Darm.
I'm not entirely sure why Cleria is harmful to Dark Fact, but I believe the "disaster" was caused by greed, and the whole "magma disaster" was an exaggeration and a way to keep their reputation (because they didn't want to reveal they killed each other, etc). This is just a personal theory of mine, which may very well be completely wrong.
I believe the goddesses made Ys rise in order to protect it from the monsters.

I see. This clears up a lot of things. This will help me develop a clearer and more correct sounding introduction to the series. Thank you.

This goes to Ys Origin, but isn't Darm Tower in that? Doesn't origin take place BEFORE Ys was raised into the heavens. If that's the case, the tower cad to have some other purpose than trying to reach Ys. Afterall, it's tall, but not anywhere NEAR that tall, and Ys is pretty high up.
BTW was the Black pearl Emelas?

Nope, Ys was in the sky during Ys Origin.
